“Antibes Green”
This is how the table looked when I purchased it off CL for $10.
I know most everyone is using a paint brush to apply Annie Sloan paint, but I was a rebel and sprayed it.
This is a cheap sprayer from Lowes and I find it sprays Annie Sloan paint much better than my expensive sprayer.ย It is also very easy to use, it comes with a DVD explaining everything in detail on how to use, and clean the sprayer.
I did add a little water to make the paint thinner.
I sprayed
one coat of paint, waited 15 minutes and sprayed another.
2 hours later I sanded it by hand.ย This paint is not as hardy as other paints and sands easily, so my electric sander would have been to much.
ย I applied one coat of clear wax and one coat of dark wax.
I love the old vintage green color!!

I am so impressed.
I’ve spent the afternoon with ASCP painting frames and small stuff. I am experimenting as I go. One I am looking forward to seeing the final finish is -damp sanded- one raised pattern gold frame with drybrushed ASCP Old White, waiting to wax/dark wax, I think it will be stunning.

In the first photo, I couldn’t understand why you had the bed risers under the legs! But when I saw the photo of the painted table, I understood. How clever! That green is just awesome and shows up real well in your new header! Great photos!

looks great, love the look on it after you waxed it. I didn’t know there was such thing as chalk paint, is it chalk board type, or just matte type??

WOW Dawn that is amazing. I had my eye on that color, I absolutely love it. That is pretty good to know about the sprayer. I know they recommend brushing it, for that aged brush look, but yours turned out gorgeous with the sprayer!

What a beautiful job, Dawn! Don’tcha just adore that ASCP???? I’ve been using it all summer long and love how easy it is to use and to sand. I do use my little palm sander on my furniture pieces and it works like a dream on this paint! ๐

Love the color! So bright and cheery and it turned out great.
I am doing my very first project with ASCP and how I wish I had known you could use it in a sprayer. I’m working on ladder back chairs and what a pain in the butt to be using a brush. I saw this post and then told my DH about it and he said lets go get a sprayer…LOL I have so many pieces in my garage waiting to be done and I probably would have been well on my way if I hadn’t chosen the chairs to do first…oh they would have been so much easier your way…UGH! So we are looking into sprayers! How much water did you add if I may ask?

Looks great! I have the same sprayer but have never used my ASCP in it. I will have to try it!!! Did you find the sprayer to use about the same amount of paint as brushing it does?
Hi, great blog post. I’m about to try spraying Annie Sloan (or rather her paint) with my Earlex HVLP, and your blog makes me feel a bit less apprehensive doing it! What size nozzle did you use by the way?

I have no idea what size tip it was. It was the paint tip that came with the sprayer. Sorry Im not much help:)
