Flea Market Sap Buckets

Hubby and I hit the last outside flea market of the season on Sunday and I picked up 4 old sap buckets.  You know the kind that hang on the side of Maple trees, and later the sap is turned into Maple syrup.
I knew I could find many uses for them.  Right now I have one filled with pine-cones on my porch, and later I plan on putting miniature Christmas trees in them.
You can never go wrong with a good ole bucket.
I will miss the flea market.  It won’t open again until the Spring.
Have you found anything interesting while flea marketing?

    Hi Dawn,
So far as I know there is not a Flea Market in our city, if there was I missed it.
I do find some pretty fabulous vintage pieces at our local Value Villages, though. Some of them are called Savers in the USA, not sure if you have those either.
I love the sap buckets, there are so many uses for great looking buckets. I have an enamel ware bucket sitting on my fireplace hearth just waiting for firewood or pine cones, I might just fill it with pine cones, they are nice for Fall and Christmas as well.
    Have a great weekend.
    Hugs, Cindy

Those sap buckets were a great find! An interesting find (actually by my mom) — this week in my hometown’s little flea market she spied what she thought was one of my handwoven baskets from several years ago. Sure enough, it was! A steal at only $5 🙂 ya just never know what may turn up at the local fleas 😀 -Tammy

I love, love, love sap buckets. I use mine for kindling, but they have so many uses. I like your Christmas tree idea.
We have a friend who keeps us in maple syrup from his trees. It’s really so much work just for a little bit of syrup-but well worth it!

What a great find. I love those old buckets. Sadly, I have not been to the flea market in a long time. We have a large one at the rose bowl that I will try to make before the holidays.
