Mini Tree Decorated with Ribbon

This is one of the small live trees that I purchased to use on our Thanksgiving table.  I hate throwing things out to redecorate for Winter, so I decided to add a few ribbon bows, and keep it through the Winter/Christmas season.

This is what it looked like when I purchased it at the store.

I cut a small square of painters cloth to wrap around the pot and used a fabric scrap to secure it in place.

Then purchased a $1 worth of 1/16″ red ribbon from Hobby Lobby and tied small bows to the branches.

I love it when I can transform something that I already had and make it work for another holiday.

Do you reuse things in your holiday decor, or purchase new?

How fun are you? I just popped over from Deb’s and of course I’m here to stay for a while. And I see so many other’s in green I know on your roll, just can’t imagine how I’ve missed you this long.

I’m reusing most everything in our decorating. We’ve only purchased a few items this year, which I’ll be sharing. I love the ribbons tied around the branches of your tree. Last year I used a small evergreen in decorating. I replanted it in the spring, and it has doubled in size. Had to put it in a larger pot recently. I’m surprised it made it through our hot summer, but it did.

I’m all about low-cost, no-cost, use what you already have – and you did great at that! Love your precious little tree and the sweet ribbons, just so simple and cheery. I found your link at Met Monday and came by to visit, glad I did.
