Building a Office Desk on a Budget

I had outgrown my standard 4ft. office desk and was in need of something much larger.
So off to the lumber yard I went and picked up 4 boards 10ft. long.  I wasn’t looking for anything special just more space.
First a base frame was built.

And then all the top boards were attached.
Here is a bottom view
 and a top view.
I was looking for a quick easy finish and this is an all in one Stain and Poly.  That sounds good to me!!  I brushed on 2 coats and let it dry.
I used IKEA legs that I had on hand.

The whole project was under $30. Works for me!!

  10. Love this and love the size! This would be perfect in my “eventually it will be done” office/craft/mom room, but I think we would have to build it right in the room otherwise we would never be able to get it up the stairs and around the corner into the room it needs to go into!
