Flannel Owl Baby Quilt

Yep, I turned all that flannel into a baby quilt!

My Besties daughter is having a baby girl and I had ten days after Christmas to
whip up a quilt before the shower.

You know how sometimes you have to get one thing out of the way before you can start on another?  Well that’s how I felt with this, I had to get over Christmas before I could tackle a quilt.

The pattern is called “Granny Square” and very easy to do.  I cut it all out in one day, assembled the squares that next day, and on the third day I put it all together with a simple stitch in the ditch to hold it all together.

The baby’s room is being done in non traditional colors as you can see.
I hope the flannel will keep the baby warm this winter.

I so love to quilt and it was nice to be able to have a project to do again.

I need to get a quilt going. But I have three or four that I need to do the free motion quilting on before I start another one!! I am like you….I need to tackle one big thing at a time!

What a cute, cute baby quilt! I’m so glad today’s generation is making different choices from the traditional baby colors. Not that there’s anything wrong with pink and blue–it was just too limiting. Your grandbaby will love the bright colors–I’m sure of it!
