Flower and Sculpture Garden Tour {Part 1}
Morning everyone, as promised I am back to share with you a Flower and Sculpture Garden Tour of two talented friends of mine. You may remember me mentioning my friend Mary and her husband Ken, they are the amazing couple that gave me all the flowers to start my own landscaping project this year. I want to give you a little back ground on the couple and then leave you to look around their incredible space. Mary and Ken are so talented, they work together as a team to make their surrounds a beautiful place to be. Not only do they plant flowers, shrubs, and trees they are artists. They can turn an old piece of metal or a rock into an interesting focal point in the garden. I spent a morning with them taking pictures, chatting, and enjoyed my time spent with genuine wholesome people. They garden organically and as you will see they take pride in the beauty of their surroundings. Now on with the tour…..
First a fish pond nestled into the ground with a copper coil turned into a fountain. The sound of trickling water is so peaceful.
This is one of the many cottages on the property, it was previously a YMCA camp before Ken and Mary rescued it and turned all the cottages into work sheds. I love the grouping of spheres in the sitting area and that darling birdhouse on the building was made by their son.
Here is the perfect mix of color framing the stairway up to their door. The bright pink phlox and cleome are the ultimate contrast against the green forest beyond.
The brick walkway leads to a lower level garden and sitting area that’s lakeside.
This sculpture is also on the lower level, overlooking the lake. These two just have an imagination that is splendid, and they strategical place little bits of art here and there for the eye to enjoy.
Mary has this bakers rack on her side porch and every year she has a new inspirational theme, this year she has displayed all these beautiful sun catchers that sparkle in the sunlight.
Here’s another extraordianry sculpture surrounded by black-eyed susan’s and waving grasses.
Wouldn’t you just love to have the time to devote to such beautiful gardens? It would be just heavenly to wake up to this sight every morning.
I have so many photos from Mary and Kens place that I will have to bring you the rest of the property tomorrow, so stay tuned….

Your friends have lovely gardens! I can’t wait to see part 2. Do they use the buildings on their property for their own workshops or do they rent them to other artists? Sounds like a huge property if it used to be a YMCA Camp!
Manuela, They use them for themselves. Some had to be tore down they were to bad to salvage, but the ones they saved are so darn cute.

Kim I do think they are on a local garden tour and Im sure anytime someone stopped by they would be glad to show them around. It is their private home.
Gorgeous! I could spend hours there! Love the stacked rocks, which is something I always plan to do, but somehow forget to do! Can’t wait to see more.
Claudia, Mary said sometimes she just stacks rocks to get them out of her way and forgets she does it and then someone stops by and say’s they love her sculpture. LOL it wasn’t even planned.
I would love to get lost looking around their garden for ideas. But, since I can’t be there, thank you for the virtual tour.
Carol, it is a place you could spend hours at. You can even sit on the side deck and sip a little wine.

Dawn…what a lovely garden. Time is right. Gardening is an everyday chore. Rewarding when it looks like this one. I have to tell you that your blog looks great. Your watermark and the whole design looks wonderful!!!! Mine needs a makeover.
Holly, thanks for noticing the new look. It only took me 6 months to do the design. LOL I would love for my garden to look this good, but for now I just don’t have the time.
