Kitchen Decor for Fall

Log Home Kitchen in Fall

The kitchen is ready to go for Fall. I added the black and white buffalo check curtain to the window and pantry door, it matches the curtains in the living room. I even had enough left over to make an island runner. Other than that, everything is about the same. I tend to use the same elements all over my home and this Fall it’s Apples and Sunflowers. I am still loving the Antibes Green bar stools, it is a bright green but it seem to work with all the decor in our home. The warm tones of fall seem to go best with our cabin.

Farmhouse Dining

It has been so chilly here our grass is no longer growing and the leaves are changing to bright, vibrant colors every day. It is unbelievable how fast the colors change here in Michigan. With the days growing shorter the bright pops of color in the kitchen make it feel warm and cozy all day.

Fall Kitchen

Every season I change our home and think to myself this is the best look for our home. I truly do feel our home is best suited for Fall colors with all the warm wood tones. I try to use bright, warm colors I don’t like the place feeling dark and drab.

Farmhouse Kitchen

The kitchen is the hub of our home. I am always cooking or baking and the kids and hubby are seated at the island. My boys have friends over all the time and there is always a gathering of teens in the kitchen, hungry teens at that. Those boys can sure put away the food. I enjoy every minute I am with them though and fear I will be a terrible empty nester. I am not looking forward to that day.

  1. Love the bandannas in the glasses, so cute and clever Dawn. Your kitchen is fallified.

    1. Debbie, thanks girl it has been a pleasure working with you this month can’t wait for Christmas now.

    1. Martina thank so much. We seldom use our dining room, the island is always the place to be.

  2. I just love those green chairs. That bold burst of green sets off the wood tones. Which yes, is perfect for fall decorating. But your home always looks fantastic. And hey, when you’ve got an empty nest, (which you may never truly have with all the kids that go to your house), you can always volunteer with them. Teach them photography. Happy fall, my friend.

    1. Brenda, I hope the kids always return, I will miss them all so much when they move on with their lives. I have been asked to be the photographer for the yearbook next year again so that will keep me in touch with all the kids.

  3. Dawn, your kitchen always looks great, but you know I’m loving the black and white checked curtains and runner! Your home is such a happy place that no wonder those teenagers are always congregating there. Much better they are at your house than who knows where! One day I hope to enlarge our kitchen so that we can have a large island where we can all eat! Looking forward to the Christmas series!

    1. Jane, you will love a big island. We never use our dining room only at Thanksgiving and Christmas.

  4. This is my kind of kitchen, Dawn. It’s so cozy and you just know that something wonderful is cooking!!! Your cabin does fall wonderfully! I would love to see a whole home tour! xo

    1. Yvonne, the kitchen is my favorite room. I need to put a tour together all in one post sometime.

  5. Love the fall touches in your kitchen, Dawn.

  6. So pretty Dawn! I would love to sit there on a bar stool and chat with you!!!
My home also is best suited in Fall colors!!
    xo Kris

    1. Kris, I agree your home is a great fall colored home it always looks stunning with all your decor.

  7. Dawn
Love love your kitchen. Love those green stools. Perfect pop of color. All your fall decor is so pretty.
    Kris

    1. Kris, thank you I can’t believe I haven’t got tired of the bright green yet, but I haven’t.

    1. Cindy, thank you so much you have a unique, way with word. Love it.

  8. I was not a very good empty nester at all…. The really cool part of the whole thing was that shortly after I had begun to figure out what to do with myself I found out that I was going to be a Granny. Now I am the Granny to 6 and it has been the best ever!!!

    1. Deb, I am not ready to be a Granny yet I think that scares me even more. The only good part about being an empty nester will be my grocery bill, we feed about 6-8 teen boys ever day.

  9. Dawn I just love your home. So warm and inviting. My oldest moved out last weekend and she was ready and very well employed now as a nurse but it nearly killed me. I miss her so much. I love having all the kids around me too.

    1. Elaine, I see others seem to get through the move and I am sure I will too just am not looking forward to it.

  10. The yellows, green, blues, and reds really pop Dawn. I am missing my college kiddo. Enjoy your kids now. xo, olive

    1. Olive, I am enjoying them and all the others that run through our door. There is a whole gang of kids that hang at our house and I love them all.

  11. When I was young I dreamed of living in a log cabin. There was a couple who lived near us who built a huge one. I guess it was a log mansion, not a cabin LOL. Every time I see your home it conjures up all of the warm feelings log home living had for me. I love the way you’ve decorated for fall, it’s perfect for your home.

    1. Karen, love your story. Hubby and I built our first home right when we got married but knew we wanted a log home some day. It took us 20 years to do it though and now I am ready to remodel an old farm house.

  12. Your kitchen looks so warm and welcoming! I’m a recent empty nester. Mixed emotions on that, for sure!

    1. Melanie, thanks for stopping by:) I know I will get through it, just dread the whole process.

  13. The black and white is perfect for this time of year…and it goes with all your bright colors perfectly. I love seeing your kitchen and how you can re-invent it with just a change of accessories. I have a feeling you will not make a good empty nester…it’s a tough gig. My youngest has been “gone” for 6 years and I am still adjusting. lol. Honestly, I don’t think you ever do. Adjust that is…

    1. Ann, I am sure it will be very hard, I have even thought about going back to school.

  14. Beautiful. Love your colors, Dawn. They absolutely do suit your cabin. How do you keep that stainless steel fridge so shiny?

    xo
    Claudia

    1. Claudia, all my stainless products are the brushed stainless so they don’t show fingerprints. Otherwise they would look horrible all the time with all the boys in my home.

    1. Thank you Andrea, it is my favorite room too:)

  15. Wow Dawn. Love the way you mix colors and I’m really loving the buffalo check but the thing that really caught my eye are those green chairs! Love them. A bit of the unexpected (talk about brightening up your cabin) I loved it when my home was full of kids when my step-son was small and lived with us. Empty nesting takes some time….but just enjoy the now! Time flies so quickly!

    1. Sandy, I dread the day all the kids leave. I need to find a job now so I am busy when they do go. Did you get your plates at Pier One? I wait till they go on clearance and pick up a few. Thanks for stopping by:)

  16. Oops….forgot to add that I spied your yellow bird plate! I just love them. I have the same plates in red and green. My green plates would go really well with your green chairs!

  17. Oh my gosh Dawn I remember how much I loved this from last year!!

    1. Thank you Martina, I love the warm colors of fall they seem to work best with my home.
