Cocoa Mate Mate TAZO Tea

I wanted to share with you all my 2 new favorite fall finds. The first is “Cocoa Mint Mate Tea” made by TAZO. Yummy to say the least. About 15 years ago I quit drinking soda and coffee and went to strictly water which is a good thing, but lately I was craving something hot to drink and my normal hot drink is hot water with a splash of lemon. I wanted something with just enough flavor to hit the spot but not be addictive like soda and coffee. I decided to stroll down the tea isle in the grocery store and spotted the Cocoa Mint Tea and thought to myself I love anything chocolate and the hint of mint will set it off nicely, I will just pretend I am drinking a steaming cup of mint chocolate cocoa. Don’t get me wrong nothing takes the place of a good Hershey bar, but this seems to do the trick, it’s a keeper. I do give it a little dab of cream and an extra dash of mint from the garden but I have to say it would be tasty without the extras.

Chicken Tortilla Soup in a Crock Pot

My second favorite fall find is “8 Can Chicken Tortilla Soup” not only is it delicious it take about 5 minutes to make and for me that’s a keeper. This is great for after a football game or any time you have just a few minutes to prepare a meal. I do mine in a crockpot, because it’s easy,  but it could be heated on top of the stove too. All you do is open 8 cans, dump them in the pan, and heat. What could be easier than that? My family is not a big leftover fan so I get excited when they don’t want to eat it a second time that means I get it for lunch the rest of the week, no disappointing face here. Below is a printable recipe if you would like to give it a try.

    Good Morning Dawn,
I gave up diet coke and I was never a coffee drinker so I usually drink water or ice tea and this mint tea sounds yummy. I am going to try it for a nice winter drink. The soup recipe sounds yummy too. Great for Football Sunday’s. Have a great week.

Kris, you do need to try both, you will fall in love:)

Nice to meet someone else who doesn’t drink coffee. I drink lots of hot water … a favourite to add is honey & a piece of ginger root, or a slice of lime. I’m also an herbal tea drinker and spearmint or peppermint are my favourites but I love all other flavours too.

Linda, I picked up a spiced variety to try too and will report on that later. It is snowing here today so warm tea hits the spot.

Can’t wait to try the soup recipe! Sounds yummy and a great time saver for when all the kids come home…..

Deb, I would eat that soup every day. I love it so much. Hope your family enjoys it.

Thanks for these tips, Dawn! I will look for that tea because I like to have something hot to drink in the afternoon during the winter. And I printed your recipe too, but I will have to substitute some items because I have to work around Leo’s chicken allergy!

Jane, use veggie broth and skip the chicken all together, you wouldn’t miss it at all.

I don’t think I’ve ever see a recipe that looks so easy.
I have two chicken breast thawed, so I’m going to try this!
The tea sounds yummy, but my favorite is Taos liquid Chai Tea.

Kim, I love cold chai tea but only treat myself once a year to it. I like it with lots of vanilla cream, so that’s why I only have one glass a year or I could be come addicted to it and all the calories are not needed.
Can’t wait to hear if you like the soup:)

I am not much of a hot beverage drinker, but that tea sounds pretty good.

I thought the picture showed chili and it made me crave some homemade chili – and I don’t cook. I am thinking that it would make a great dinner.

Carol, I love chili too and this is quite similar to that. It is a perfect dinner with some homemade bread.

Well, I am a coffee drinker but that looks good, Dawn! I’ll have to try it. I bet Don would like it too.

Claudia, I love coffee when I was a drinker of it but wanted to get away from caffeine. Rather than go decaf I went cold turkey and gave it all up. I needed your pretty anthro cups for my pic.

Hi Dawn, I don’t drink soda but do drink coffee in the morning and tea-either hot or iced in the afternoon. From mid-afternoon through the evening I only drink water with lemon. I love all the Tazo’s teas but this one sounds especially yummy. I have gotten used to Yerba Mate-but for most people, it is a strong tea that you need to learn to like. The chili/soup sounds great-but I’d have to leave the cream of chicken out-I’m gluten free but could probably substitute something else. Thanks for sharing these!

Noreen, I like strong tea too. When I was a coffee drinker I drank it like mud, very dark. I bet you could leave the cream of chicken out and it would be just fine.

I’m so excited about this soup, because I don’t like to cook, and this sounds easy peasy! I’m gonna try this soon! ๐Ÿ™‚
