What’s In My Bag
I get emails quite regularly asking me what camera and lens I use, so I though it would be the perfect opportunity to show you “What’s In My Bag.”
1. Camera Body – Canon EOS 7D SLR
2. Canon 70-200mm F2.8L IS This is my favorite portrait and sports lens. I use this one everyday for something.
3. Canon 28-135mm F3.5 IS Kit lens and I never use it.
4. Canon 50mm F1.4 Best lens for macro shots, those close ups with lots of bokeh.
5. Canon 85mm F1.8 Second favorite portrait lens, much lighter than my 70-200.
6. Canon 18-55mm F3.5 IS Favorite lens for landscape shots and whole room shots, this lens has a very wide angle.
I also use software to edit my photos, for me no photo comes straight off the camera looking perfect so I use a combination of 3 different ways to give my photos the look I want.

I take my camera every where I go, I see things in nature and people that others don’t see, and when that happens I want to be there with camera in hand to capture it. I always threaten to get a small point and shoot to carry in my purse but I fear I won’t love it like I do my big DSLR, so as long as my back holds out I will carry along my big girl camera.

I’m a camera bag lady too. I need to add a macro lens to my collection. I have a great super macro on my Olympus camera but want one for the Canon. We tend to be rather spoiled on cameras don’t we? 🙂
Linda, I am still wanting more L series lenses but they are so expensive. I just have to look a drool for now.
And as soon as I get something new, or what I think is new, a newer version comes out 🙂
I hear you about the price of the lenses. I watch Nature shows on tv and spend more time admiring the camera lens than the program 🙂
Linda, that is funny about watching the lens. I do that with programs too, I can tell what technique or overlay they used to get a certain look. Couldn’t tell you what the darn program was about thought. LOL

Claudia I do have a bag I use but it’s not a photography bag. That is on my wish list but hate to invest $200 in one. I have just made inserts for an older flat bottom bag I already had. It works great and is a pretty alligator skin (faux) pattern that is quite attractive but it’s not perfect.
My daughter bought me a camera bag from etsy … perfect, has the pouches for 2 lenses and holds the Canon perfectly. I also have a Canon camera bag that I stuff all sorts of bits into. Packing the camera bags is more important than packing other bags sometimes 🙂
Wow, Dawn I didn’t realize you had so many lenses. Maybe one of these years I can upgrade.

Susan, thank you for being so kind. I say go for it, but do the research first and get the best bang for your buck.
I use my husband’s Canon camera all the time. He jokes that he bought it for the business, but he has to ask me where it is.
Carol, I would keep it in my possession too:) LOL I get anxious if anyone touches my camera. My son wanted to use it but couldn’t even figure it and I was glad.

Dawn, you have a lot of lenses, girl! I’m hoping Santa brings me a 50 mm lens this year. I can’t wait for your next post because I am wondering how difficult it is to learn Elements and Lightroom. Your photos are incredible!
Jane, my first tutorial is tonight for a picmonkey edit. I am trying to stick to 30 second edits for these lessons and will continue to add harder techniques if I get a good response. You will love a 50mm. I did some portrait close ups yesterday with my 50mm and they are amazing.
Oh I did see a box up there that has the same little window I have going on too. Anyway I love this. I think we are redoing our bedroom soon so my new lens is probably going to be pushed off till my birthday. I can’t wait to get one. I think I will try the macro one first.
