Rustic Natural Element Christmas Wreath

Easy to Make Natural Element Christmas Wreath | Rustic Christmas Wreath | creativecaincabin.comI created an easy to do Rustic Natural Element Christmas Wreath for our door this year. You all know me by now, and I don’t like to continually buy new things to decorate with, so I normally reinvent whatever I have on hand. This year I went to the basement and found 10 straw wreath forms that I had covered with burlap about 3 years ago (probably right when burlap became popular), they got my wheels turning so I brought 2 of them up (one for the front door and one for the side door).

The rosehips grow wild all over our field so I always have plenty of those to cut and we also have several pine trees to find cones under. So me and the dog got a nice walk and I found the materials for my wreath. Now all I needed was a bow to complete it all.

I really hate creating clutter in my home so anytime I can reuse anything I’m all for it, especially with seasonal items. This wreath can be used all winter, it certainly doesn’t scream Christmas. Hubby and I also went and got our tree yesterday, we cut 9 ft tree this year instead of a 25 ft tree. It sure won’t take nearly as long to decorate. The boys don’t really care if we have a tree or not so I’m not going to make it difficult on myself. I hope to have time to get to it after school one day this week.

Let the Christmas decorating begin…..and don’t forget the $250 Christmas Cash giveaway is still going on, if you haven’t entered click here for a chance to win.

  6. Happy Thanksgiving Dawn,

I love to reinvent what I have also. We took some small wreaths and put them on our families gravesite earlier this week. They looked so pretty there, hated to see them not being used. I would say that my wreaths are changed out about every other year, love when you get something for free by just walking around your yard or in those tubs of goodies bought years ago.

Can’t wait to see your Christmas tree.

    1. Karen, What a brilliant idea for use of the wreaths. I purchased nothing this year to decorate with and I’m pretty proud of that. It’s so freeing!
