Revolving Storage, Get that Farmhouse Industrial Look

Revolving Camera Storage | CreativeCainCabin.comFollow Creative Cain Cabin on PinterestI had a brilliant idea while shopping with hubby at Harbor Freight. I spotted this Revolving Storage Tray and knew it would work perfect for all my camera lenses and accessories. Of course it comes in a box with a billion screws (that’s where hubby came in) so if you’re not up for some assembly turn and run now.

I hate tedious tasks like this so I’m so glad he volunteered to do it. I normally keep all my equipment in my camera bag, and everytime I want something I have to drag the bag out of it’s storage spot and find what I’m looking for. Now I can just easily grab what I’m looking for. Keeping it on my desk next to the computer makes it quite handy.

I’m amazed how much storage there is and it has nice rolling bearing so it turns smoothly. For the price it’s very well made. The only lense that didn’t fit was my 70-200mm but that’s okay I only use that lense when I’m shooting sports so there’s no need to keep it handy all the time.

(By the way the huge map in the background is from IKEA it takes up a whole wall in my office, it’s 6.5ft X 4.5 ft.)

That revolving storage bin is no longer available at Harbor Freight. I live in North Carolina and have searched everywhere and even on the website. If anyone has an extra I would like to purchase it from you.

      1. Wanda, darn it it’s been a while since I purchased mine and I just recently gave it away.

Good morning Dawn, my husband just bought a storage chest for his camera equipment. We have a Harbor Freight just down the street. We need to check out the store. Kathleen in Az

    1. Kathleen, Wow he must have a lot of things. I love home improvement stores for finding unique things to use in different ways other than their intentions.

What a great idea for spices or those coffee pods to go in on your countertop, I am sure if don’t want black then spray pint it any color you want.

    1. Linda, I agree that’s a great use. I was even thinking just painting the edge of each tray with a colorful chalk paint so you could label what was in each cubby.

I bought one @ HF for sewing storage. It holds thread, small jars of buttons, tape measures, etc. I sanded it, spray painted it turquoise , & dry brushed over the turquoise with beige. Looks great & holds a lot. Love it! HF has lots of items that can be used for crafting…storage boxes, paper cutter, canvas drop cloths, electric & hand staple guns, & more…all cheaper than craft stores.

      1. Brenda what a perfect use for it. I wish I had painted mine and may do it still. Black shows all the dust and I hate to dust. Thanks for the storage tip ๐Ÿ™‚

  5. Dawn, every time I go in Harbor Freight I eye that revolving storage unit and you have created a wonderful use for it! And I like your idea about spray painting one. Now you really have my wheels turning!

I searched my local store and the website. I can’t find them anywhere. Do you have a item number I could call the store and inquire about them? Looking to purchase 2-3.
      Thank you , Lorraine

What an awesome idea. I have one similar but it is metal and has only 2 shelves. I never knew what to put in mine other than fruit. I like the fact that it takes up so little room and holds so much .

    1. Cheryl, It would look great as fruit storage ๐Ÿ™‚

  8. Excellent substitute for, in my opinion, a less-attractive and pricey item. Yours is fabulous!

    1. Lisa I always love a way to save a little money yet still get the look!

  9. I’m going to use mine for stamping supplies. I love the fact that it revolves.
