The American Kitchen by GE {$100 Gift Card Giveaway}

The American kitchen, the space we all gather to share family stories, to hear about each other’s day, and partake in delicious meals created with love. Much of our life is spent in the kitchen so why not make it a space you love. While searching for appliances I found this GE Artistry Series that comes in the most amazing colors. As you know my kitchen has white cabinets with stainless steel appliances but soon they will need to be replaced and I have my heart set on white appliances this time.  GE ApplianceAfter all, the kitchen is the heart of the home. I’ve been amazed at how cooking is shaping the lives of young children, by exposing them to the American culture through food and cooking. GE Appliances is a company that has been a part of the American home since 1905, and now has a documentary series exploring the diversity of the American Kitchen called Our American Kitchen. The documentaries explore the diversity of the American experience and how everyday Americans and real GE appliance owners are living their lives through their kitchens. One story that truly inspired me was about a 13-year-old boy, Chase with Autism who wasn’t willing to eat anything until he discovered cooking, and with his GE Kitchen it’s given him a palette for food he was sensitive to before. He even has his own Internet cooking show — Chase’s story coming soon, so be sure to stay tuned.
GE Appliance Another inspiring story brings together 5 adopted children from different cultures, by sharing time in the kitchen making their favorite dishes. The kitchen brought them closer to America and American culture, and over time became more accustomed to American life making them feel like part of the family. GE has been a part of the changing ways people live, play, cook, celebrate, and shape family life at home in America and it can be seen in the lives of the amazing people featured in Our American Kitchen — stories coming soon, so be sure to stay tuned.

    I’m so frustrated with my kitchen. When we moved in we had to buy a new stove (it had to be a downdraft vented one, and the only one I could find was a Jenn air ) I couldn’t afford the extra warranty they offered ( it cost about as much as the stove did) Well, just about the instant the warranty ran out on it, the stove stopped working properly. I was left with only two burners that work, and no working oven. This was seven years ago, and I still cannot afford a new one. I cook in a countertop oven, or crock pot, or toaster oven, and a microwave. Do not EVER purchase a Jenn Air product! A gift card would certainly help ๐Ÿ™‚
