How I Used A Calendar As Artwork

Bedroom Art Using Calendar Pages | CreativeCainCabin.comI purchase a beautiful watercolor calendar quite some time ago to use as artwork somewhere in our home. After months of it sitting on my desk, I actually found it when I redid the craft room, I decided our bedroom would be the only logical spot.

Bedroom Art Using Calendar Pages | CreativeCainCabin.comWith the ceilings being so high in the rest of the house, the 12X12 print just got lost in such an area. So while hubby was out of town on business I got busy and painted and recovered the chair, move around some furniture, and hung the calendar pages.

Bedroom Art Using Calendar Pages | CreativeCainCabin.comI looked for frames but decided I liked them best just hung with clear tacks. I wanted the feel of something very informal and thought frames may be too much, and this way I don’t have to pound nails into the wall.

Bedroom Art Using Calendar Pages | CreativeCainCabin.comAre they not just adorable watercolors? I love the whimsy to them all and know I will be purchasing another from this artist when the next years calendar is out. Believe it or not hubby either never noticed the changes or didn’t care enough to speak of them. I’ve been known to move all new furniture in before and he never seems to notice. Go figure???

Bedroom Art Using Calendar Pages | CreativeCainCabin.comI love all the color I have going on in the space right now, and I can’t wait to get back at the sewing machine to make more of those reversible pillowcases. I think they give the bedroom that collected over time look.

Looks lovely Dawn. I used calendars all the time when teaching to make displays for the room on various themes.

Hi Dawn, thanks for the waterlogue tip. I’ve learned so much from you. A question, how do you create a printable to put on a blog. Do you mind sharing that info. I can’t figure it out.
Thanks do much…You are really creative,

Judy and some of the calendars are as pricey as a piece of art too.

Susan beware they are addictive. I love to make them, but can only have so many so I have to hold myself back. I have flannel purchased right now to do some for winter.

Hi Dawn and thanks for the reply. I can do the Waterlogue but then actually putting it on my blog
(posting it) so others can download it for a printable is what Im having trouble with. Do you put the picture under a link back? Does that make sense?
I do appreciate your info. Thanks.

Diana I put a link underneath it as a downloadable PDF, I work on a Mac so all I do is right click on the printable and choose the option that says compress, it will automatically make it a downloadable file that way. Then I add that downloadable file to my media area on my blog and insert it under the printable and it appears as a link. Let me know if you need more info 🙂
