The Trick To Get Flowers Upright In A Vase

Have you ever had trouble getting flowers to look perfectly arranged and stand up straight in a vase, especially a very wide vase? Okay well today I’m going to share with you my poor mans woman’s way of getting the flowers to stand up every time.

The Trick To Get Flowers Upright In A Vase

It all happened by chance as I added one rose to the vase the next one slipped down and for the life of me I couldn’t get them all to look nicely placed at the same time. Do you happen to watch the talk show Ellen and notice how nicely the flower on her coffee table look? They are always perfectly arranged in a wide vase. Now I know she pays someone the big bucks to do this but I have an inexpensive way to get the look.

The Trick To Get Flowers Upright In A Vase

All you need is ordinary rubber bands. Yep that’s my big trick; what I do is cut my stems a little longer than the vase height and then rubber band them in 3’s. Start adding them to the vase and if one looks a little low just pull it up and the rubber band makes them all stay in place and at the perfect height. You can create a pretty flower dome effect with no frustration.

The Trick To Get Flowers Upright In A Vase

I guess it’s a little like a flower frog in the way it makes the stems stand upright. No matter what it’s called, it works like a charm and is cheap. Now if you had a glass vase you would want to use green rubber bands not orange like I used they probably wouldn’t look to pretty in the vase.

The Trick To Get Flowers Upright In A Vase

By the way the roses came from our local grocery store I purchased the whole bouquet for $3 and they last at least a week which is very rare for roses. If you want to see the vase of roses displayed in our master you can see it here.

Good ides! Even with faux flowers too. I have faux Easter eggs and I’m thinking about putting them in a glass vase and sticking stems of faux Spring/ Easter flowers in it. A blogger posted that today. Bloggers give me the best ideas, Thank you:)

Kathleen bloggers are better than magazines for ideas and they’re free.

This is a super useful tip, Dawn! I have a flower vase almost like yours except it’s a different color so I think I’ll pull it out of storage and fill it with some roses! Love the Ellen show, too!
