Farmhouse Kitchen Curtains
I’ve been on the hunt for the perfect farmhouse kitchen curtains forever. I’ve looked every place I stop but nothing has jumped right out and grabbed me and said take me home. But one night while hubby was out of town working I was up late on the internet and stumbled across the clearance section of Country Curtains. I must have hit it at just the right moment when their sale went live because things hadn’t been picked over yet.
I was like a crazy lady adding things to the cart and couldn’t believe the fantastic prices and to top it off not only were the curtains on clearance they also had an additional 25% off the clearance price plus free shipping. Now for me that’s a shoppers dream come true.
What I ended up getting was 3 yards of fabric to make pillow covers with and this black and white farmhouse kitchen valance all for $7, yep you read that right only $7. I can’t purchase a yard of fabric to make my own for that price and if you’ve ever purchased from Country Curtains you know things are of excellent quality and the yardage cuts are very generous.
I couldn’t wait to take the old valance down and get the new one up. I’m in love and can’t believe I found exactly what I was looking for. I don’t know about you, but I get a vision in my head of what I want and then have the hardest time finding just the right look. It seems like all the stores have the same things in them. Not everyone decorates with what’s trending right at the moment, and I must be one of those people. I’m guessing this pattern isn’t for everyone, but it seems like a simple neutral to me.
Anyway I’m glad I had that midnight notion to do a little shopping, maybe that’s when I have my best luck. I better remember that for next time and set my alarm to get up and bargain hunt in the middle of the night.
So cute and such a bargain!! I did like your old curtain valance, but I like this one even more. I’ll have to check out their site. I’m like you in that I’m not one to decorate the trends, although lately many of the ways I’ve decorated for years are now in style – guess that means I’m going to look dated before long! LOL…well, I’ll just wait it out and continue on decorating with what suits my taste.

Jen you have to decorate with what works for you and your lifestyle, what we see in magazines isn’t how real people live. I’m going to do a post on my decorating fails and they all seem to fall into the category of following trends I’m sad to say.
Wow, what a bargain, Dawn! Your curtain valance is adorable and your kitchen always looks amazing. I used to get Country Curtains’ catalog in the mail and always enjoyed looking through it. I’m searching for a few new curtains myself and will be sure to check out the sale.
Jennifer I hope you find what you’re looking for. I went back to order something else and most of the clearance was picked over so I missed out, I’ll be keeping track of their sales from now on though.
I’ve ordered from Country Curtains over the years. The workmanship and quality is excellent. Their curtains wash well and hold their shape! I like that if you have a question about the color or pattern you can order a swatch prior to placing an order! They get a 5 star ranking in my hook! P.S. love your valance choice!

That valance is perfect. I used like Country Curtains when we lived in the States.

I’ve ordered from Country Curtains ( and not just curtains ) and I used to get the catalog too! I haven’t changed my kitchen curtains in years. My Martha Stewart green glass check panels blends perfectly with my decor in the kitchen. The black check looks pretty in your kitchen. Love the glimpse of Autumn around your sink. Kathleen in Az

Your curtains look great. I struggle with curtains also. Right now I’m looking for something different in the living room. Everything I find looks so formal. Anyway, your kitchen looks amazing.
Becky I know what you mean about the living room curtains. I notice everyting is ikat, or chevron and I’m not a fan of either of those. Target has a pretty good selection and I’v noticed Kmart is really stepping up their game and getting some nice looking curtains for a good price.

Dawn, I don’t think you could have found any more perfect curtains for your kitchen window! I used to get the Country Curtains catalog years ago. I am in the market for new short curtains for our back porch windows. I could make some but at the price you got them, why would I???
Jane I even have a hard time finding fabric I like these days and it keeps going up in price. If I can find what I like ready made I’m all for it.
