Embarrassing Moment

Embarrassing MomentThis photo says it all, and I’m sure this was the look on my face when that embarrassing moment was pointed out! You know that moment when you’re strutting around thinking you look mighty fine only to find out you have toilet paper stuck to the bottom of your shoe? Well thank God that’s not what happened but I was still embarrassed all the same.

I’ve been struggling with needing glasses; I’m at the age where I need reading glasses to see my phone or eat but was trying to avoid them. Every since I had the eye injury I have all kinds of trouble with my eyes and the embarrassing moment happened right in the eye doctors office. I signed in waiting to be fitted for glasses and when my name was called I stood up only to have the lady working there say to me, “Well that’s a clever idea, you always look so cute when you come in”. So I had to ask what she’s talking about and she points out the Christmas ornament I have hanging from the back of my sweater, down near my butt. I had to tell her that wasn’t me being a fashion statement I must have brushed up against a display while out shopping and swiped an ornament. If you know me well things like this happen to me all the time. I’m my own comedy act sometimes. So after a good laugh I removed the ornament and was fitted for glasses.

On my way home I started thinking to myself I have no ideas where the ornament came from so I can’t even return it. Then I started to wonder how long had it been hanging there while I was out shopping with no one pointing it out to me. So technically I guess I stole the ornament.

I had to call my BFF and tell her the story, I was laughing so hard I thought I’d pee my pants before I got it all out. Now back in the day when I was younger I would have wore and ornament as an earring for sure but I certainly didn’t want a big glittery bulb hanging from the backside of my sweater accentuating my big butt. Now why would anyone think that was a planned placement I’ll never know or maybe it was just her way of being kind while pointing it out.

It’s never a dull moment when you’re with me that’s for sure. If you need a good laugh just hang out with me for a day, and I’m sure to do something stupid that will get a rise out of ya. Oh and that’s only the beginning, If I spend my time telling you all my embarrassing moments I’d never have time to post about anything else. And BTW I got the glasses, have been back twice for lense changes, and can’t see a thing with them after spending $700. I’m heading back again this week in hopes they can find a solution.

Awww you would think somebody would have told you:). I hope they can correct the lenses so you can see out of them Dawn. Glasses are expensive!

    1. Kathleen I know I paid $700 for these and have had the lenses made twice and still can’t see. Every since the eye injury I’m a special case. I now need transition lenses with prescription in the top half of one. I know they think I’m being picking, but for that amount of money I want them right.

  3. Bahahahahaha, thank you for a good laugh. We all need some humor in our life. But, where did that ornament come from? Lol!

    1. Cheryl I have no idea where it came from, I’m assuming I brushed against a decorated tree at a departmet store and snagged it then but who knows. I couldn’t even return it becasue I had no idea where it came from.

  4. That’s so funny, although not at the time, I’m sure. Thanks for sharing. Just two days ago I was out with my husband and our youngest son who was home for Christmas. We were hanging our coats on the coat rack at the event we were attending and I ask my son to check my sweater for tags hanging bc it was new. He paused looked at me, and starting laughing. He said, no, mom, no tags but you have your sweater on inside out! Luckily the restroom was nearby for a quick change. I think they were both still laughing when I walked out of the restroom.

    1. Becky, OMG yes wearing it inside out is just as bad as tags hanging off it. LOL

  5. Bahaha! I just spit my coffe out reading that, thanks for the laugh this morning.

    1. Stacey I’m always good for a laugh if you hang with me. My bestie and I have been BFF’s for over 40 years and when we’re together it gets worse. I think we feed off one another and get into all kinds of crazy situations that make us laugh. Oh the stories I could tell.

  6. Ha, you need to hang with me! The last big embarrassment to myself I pulled was walking into the mens restroom at Wal-Mart and did not realize I was in the wrong bathroom until I was washing my hands at the sink and wondering why the lady standing next to the sink was hugging the wall (it was not a lady with a baseball cap on. It was, as you have probably already guessed, a man standing at the urinal trying to keep his dignity)
My cousin was with me that day and watched me walk in without warning me I was heading into the wrong restroom, she had hightailed it to the entrance of the store far from the bathroom but still in sight of it. (she did not want to be recognized as being with me).
I got over it quickly enough but I am sure to really look at the signage before entering a public restroom now, no matter how badly I need to go.

    1. Pam too funny. I haven’t done that one yet but my hubby has and passed someone in the bathroom that we knew. I laughed until I cried.

  7. Too funny Dawn, now I’m thinking back track, but, no worries, everything happens for a reason, right. Happy New year, hope you all are blessed in 2017. Love visiting here, an I enjoy “you keeping it real”.

    1. Jo May, Thank you for stopping in and Happy New Year to you also ๐Ÿ™‚

  8. How funny – for everyone but you, right? I agree with you that if I was going to wear an ornament, it certainly wouldn’t be on my behind!

    Happy New Year!

    1. Judy I just wonder how long I wore it around and how many people videoed it and it’s now out there on YouTube somewhere, lol.

  9. Oh my gosh Dawn how funny. This sounds like something that would happen to me too. I think we do need to get together and hang out!!!! I was in my car the other day with a friend and was digging in my purse and she said what are your looking for? I said I am trying to find my sunglasses and she said Kris they are on your face. OMG!!!! It is stuff like this that scares me lol! I am surprised that I am not wearing some Christmas decor on me too!!! You made me smile with your fun story.
Happy New Year. Hope you can get your glasses working for you.
    xxoo

  11. Dawn you are a real hoot! My last embarrassing moment was my daughter and I went out to eat at a MCL restaurant and I called our courtesy person “maam” Long story short…not a maam! Fooled me! That’s been a couple years ago and we still laugh about it!

    1. Carol, OMG that’s too funny but you’re right sometimes ya just can’t tell.

Dawn, that is funny. Things like that happen to me all the time too. . Last summer , I was shopping holding a baby, and a lady pointed out to me that I had baby vomit all down my back….ugghh.

    1. Cheryl, ugghh is right. But you were lucky enough and found a kind lady to let you know. I was left looking like a fool, lol.

  13. Ha, ha. Thank you for making me laugh out loud.
Years ago I was shopping and I was pushing a shopping cart. I walked away from the cart to look at something. I then returned to the cart and started pushing it. I finally looked down, and the cart was not mine. It was an employees cart full of empty boxes from them stocking the shelves.
    Talk about embarrassing!!!

    1. Theresa well your story is equally as funny. LOL Never a dull moment.
