Christmas Dining Room

RUSTIC LOG HOME DINING ROOM DECORATE FOR CHRISTMAS USING NATURAL ELEMENTS AND A POP OF RED!

Rustic Christmas Dining Room in a Log Home. Traditional Red and White Christmas using Pinecones, Deer Antlers, and GreeneryI can’t believe how close Christmas is getting and I still have rooms in the house to share with you. The dining room was the first area I decorated this year, on a whim my sons girlfriend and myself started hauling up the Christmas totes and decided to get started with the decorating.

Farmhouse Christmas Shelves

Christmas Tree in the Dining Room of a Log Home Decorated With Firefighter OrnamentsAs I’ve been saying I wanted to keep things simple, and natural. I went with pinecones, deer antlers, wood slices, and natural greens. I pretty much keep the farmhouse shelves the same year round and just add a few things to make them seasonal. One of my favorite elements this year is the tiny red cardinals I tucked into my wreaths.

Easy, Natural Christmas Dining Room Place Setting

Traditional Red and White Christmas using Pinecones, Deer Antlers, Black and White Buffalo Check Fabric, and GreeneryI also added the tiny cardinals to the dining room tree. This is the only tree I decorated this year and I added firefighter ornaments and a few other things to fill it up, but I wanted to keep it dedicated to our son the fire fighter. I hadn’t planned on going with a red theme again this year but it seems to have turned out that way.

Farmhouse Christmas ShelvesMy intention was to go with all black and white buffalo check, but once I started putting it all together I felt like it needed a pop of color and red was the natural choice and I also already had lots of red decorations. With not wanting to buy anything new I went with it.

Traditional Red and White Christmas using Pinecones, Deer Antlers, Black and White Buffalo Check Fabric, and GreeneryI spent this week wrapping a few gifts, a very few that is with the kids being grown it’s just hard to buy for them. I even made it easy on myself and went with gift bags, it’s not something I normal do I like to wrap gifts but I had so few I made it easy on myself.

  1. LOVE the setting on your table. Gorgeous, yet not overly done…. and your tree decorations simply scream ‘a cabin in the country’…. the red cardinals completely caught my eye since we have so many cardinals in our yard and trees all year long. Our state bird, by the way.

We don’t have many packages to wrap here either… kids are grown, so they receive gift cards, and the little ones get things sent directly from internet stores since they all live so very far away. We do wrap a couple of items for one another, and some very close neighbors, but Christmas at our house is pretty simple.

Thanks for sharing and I am looking forward to seeing you in 2018 on your blog. xo

    1. Diane, your place sounds like ours. Grown kids, no grandkids though. Everyone want’s cash, so it’s all pretty uneventful. LOL Merry Christmas!

  2. So beautiful and I love the touches of red. Plus I love the little tree. Would you tell me where you bought it? I donโ€™t have many gifts to wrap either and have had them done for a couple weeks. Made wrapping a priority since I do procrastinate getting it done. Weโ€™re at the stage where my daughter is married and out of the house but no grandkids yet. Pretty laid back and simple. But back to your dining room. It looks so festive and ready for Christmas. Love what youโ€™ve done.
