RUSTIC LOG HOME DINING ROOM DECORATE FOR CHRISTMAS USING NATURAL ELEMENTS AND A POP OF RED!
I can’t believe how close Christmas is getting and I still have rooms in the house to share with you. The dining room was the first area I decorated this year, on a whim my sons girlfriend and myself started hauling up the Christmas totes and decided to get started with the decorating.
As I’ve been saying I wanted to keep things simple, and natural. I went with pinecones, deer antlers, wood slices, and natural greens. I pretty much keep the farmhouse shelves the same year round and just add a few things to make them seasonal. One of my favorite elements this year is the tiny red cardinals I tucked into my wreaths.
I also added the tiny cardinals to the dining room tree. This is the only tree I decorated this year and I added firefighter ornaments and a few other things to fill it up, but I wanted to keep it dedicated to our son the fire fighter. I hadn’t planned on going with a red theme again this year but it seems to have turned out that way.
My intention was to go with all black and white buffalo check, but once I started putting it all together I felt like it needed a pop of color and red was the natural choice and I also already had lots of red decorations. With not wanting to buy anything new I went with it.
I spent this week wrapping a few gifts, a very few that is with the kids being grown it’s just hard to buy for them. I even made it easy on myself and went with gift bags, it’s not something I normal do I like to wrap gifts but I had so few I made it easy on myself.
I’ll be back in a few days to share with you the last decorated room on my list, and then I’ll be on to new and fun things to bring in 2018. Merry Christmas everyone!
