IWHAT COULD BE BETTER THAN HAVING A CARAMEL APPLE DIPPED IN CHOCOLATE CHUNKS ON A BRISK FALL DAY? IT’S ALL PART OF THE COZY RUSTIC CHARM SERIES!
Living in Michigan always means fall apple picking season, and the best part of apples is dipping them in caramel and adding chocolate pieces. I made home made caramel sauce this year but to be honest melting store bought caramels is a lot easier and less messy but I had to give it a try this once. Fall is by far my favorite season, I love layering clothes, curling up in a cozy blanket by the fire, burning candles, and making hearty soup.
I’m excited to be sharing with you a new series I’m apart of that contains everything COZY, the fabulous bloggers in this group not only have stunning photography they have the most wonderful ideas to share with you. All the links are listed below and I hope you take the time to pop over and see them all today. I know you’ll fall in love with them, and also make new friends.
I have a funny story to tell you about making my caramel apples. The girls at work were asking for them so I decided to make up a batch and take them to work to surprise them. All was going well I’d made the apples, set my cozy fall table, and decided to snap a few picks before packaging them up to take to work.
I carefully added the apples to my cutting board, opened the door to take them outside, and all of a sudden I fell down the stairs and caramel apples went everywhere. They rolled through the dirt collecting tiny pebbles along the way (insert sad face here). No longer were the apples very pretty, or tasty looking at this point. I just stood there staring at the mess thinking how much work I’d put into the apples only to watch them scatter all over the lawn.
My hubby came out of the house to see what was going on, and declared I’d made quite a mess out of my apples; indeed I had! Well those apples wouldn’t be going to work with me so into the compost bin the first batch went and back into the house I went to start the process all over again, LOL. This is when I discovered store bought caramels were much easier to work with. I wasn’t about to go through that whole process again of making caramel. I had to gather pretty sticks again, warm the apples, and create a mess of my kitchen again. Oh the things we do to make everyone happy!
I hope you got a good laugh just like I did hearing about my apple escapade. For those of you who don’t know me; I’m a total klutz and this was just a normal day in my life. I decided the second batch of apples would not be leaving the house without firmly being wrapped and stored in an airtight container. I’m happy to report that batch made it to work safely without incident.
Thanks to all the COZY girls that included me today and don’t forget to check out the links below 🙂
