Adding Neutral Paint Colors To a Log Home's DecorI haven’t shown many photos of the inside of the house lately because I’ve been neutralizing the place. A good friend of mine, who’s 20 just purchased her first home and needed some things to get started with. I told her to come shop my place before she bought anything.

Adding Neutral Paint Colors To a Log Home's DecorWe had the best time going through curtains, area rugs, pillows, dishes, and furniture. I loaded up her truck and in the process weeded out many of my colorful things. I was so happy to help her out and it’s making me really rethink what I do want to keep and the colors I want to work with.

Adding Neutral Paint Colors To a Log Home's DecorI wanted to purchase new furniture but instead I bought new slipcovers. There’s nothing wrong with what we have, and we seldom sit on it so I was excited to find out JCPenney is no longer selling the furniture line I have so that meant my new slipcovers were greatly discounted. Right now the Butter color is still on the sofa but soon I’ll be changing it out to the gray I purchased.

Adding Neutral Paint Colors To a Log Home's DecorThe paint colors I’m going with are Graniet for the base of the table and Analytical Gray for the top. Good by yellow! I’ve painted all the pieces in the livingroom and next I’ll tackle the kitchen and dining room.

Dawn, how fun! I bet your friend was thrilled to have your things. My daughter just bought her first home in January and is having so much fun furnishing it. I’m looking forward to seeing the changes you make. By the way, I love your stair railing.

Love the colors on the table…and how nice of you to give away some of your things to your friend…i am sure she was so very excited to have them. Anxious to see more of what you are doing in the room

Shirley we had such a good time rummaging through all my things and she sure made a haul. I’m sure she’ll enjoy it all.

How sweet of you to share! Where do you get your slipcovers?

Anita they are from JCPenney and they fit their Friday Furniture Collection. I have them in every color but am ready to give someone who also has the furniture all the colors I’m no longer using.

Jillian I’m planning on painting the island a darker color and may do the rest of the cupboards in a light gray. Depends on how ambitious I get.
