I’ve been keeping a little secret and it’s finally time to tell you about the launch of my new foodie blog called “TRIPLE DELISH”. Not only do I enjoy cooking and baking I also like the idea of using a blog as an online recipe box. I’ll be adding delicious, easy, family friendly recipes from time to time. I want this blog to be all about finding a recipe using everyday items, no ingredients you’ve never heard of or have to spend hours looking for in the grocery store. Face it most of us aren’t gourmet cooks, we’re just looking to put a meal on the table that’s satisfying, fast, and delicious….Triple Delish in fact.
Iโve talked about starting another blog with my friends for quite some time and I guess Iโve talked it to death and needed to take action. Since this blog, Creative Cain Cabin, is already up and running, Iโve been able to learn from my mistakes along the way and make better choices this go around. Yes, I do get wiser with ageโฆ.as far as blogging goes.
The first step to starting a new blog is choosing the name. Choosing a blog name can become consuming in itself, eating up much of my time trying to come up with something my readers can remember, something catchy, and something that just makes sense with what the blog is all about. I spent a long time with this process.
I started by writing down names I thought would make sense for a food blog and still be memorable. Once I had a list with which I was happy, I ran them by my friends and narrowed it down to the top 3 favorites. It is great to have other people look at your ideas. Try saying the name out loud to them, and see how easy it is for them to get the spelling correct, too.
Once I had my top 3 list, it was time to start looking for the domain that I wanted. At the time I was in the planning stages for this new blog, I looked for .com domains. But after registering my new name, I found out you no longer have to have a .com ending! This opens up so many more creative choices for the perfect blog name.
I bet you didnโt even know this existed, either. There are now domain names with โnot comโ endings. Did you get that? It isn’t just .net or .org, either. You can now name your blog with an ending like .kitchen, .coffee, .florist, .pizza, .fashion and many more. Since this is something new, many of the best names are still available. You can make and
claim your name at Name.Kitchen. They even offer tips, advice and inspiration to help anyone jump-start the name brainstorm. I think thatโs so exciting. I know many of us bloggers couldnโt secure the .com of our choice, or had to have a ridiculously long and hyphenated domain names, or had to use something that we thought wouldnโt be as easy to remember or as searchable. Well now you can
join the not com movement and get exactly what you like for a name. Brilliant idea I do say!!
I really wish I would have known about
Name.Kitchen when I was brainstorming name ideas for my new site. There are so many different varieties that would have been a great fit like TripleDelish.Recipes or TripleDelish.cooking! I love all of the endless possibilities that you have with
Name.Kitchen.
Once the blog was named I had to start thinking of a color scheme. I wanted something that was happy and attractive and made me smile. I also wanted something that could be used for many years with no changes. Blogging takes a lot of time and I want the food blog to be effortless for me. I will post a pretty picture and a recipe when I find something that my family really likes, or if I find a healthier version, or a shortcut for a delicious meal. I’ll keep a link to Triple Delish in my sidebar and I hope you drop by from time to time to see what’s cooking….it will be Triple Delish for sure.

Is a very attractive blog, Dawn! I’m looking forward to visiting.
How fun. I have been wanting to put more recipes on my site as I have been concocting some lately from what is coming out of my garden. I just have been so focused on getting the painting tutorials and videos completed that it is on a back burner. Maybe I will at least get glammer shots of the food then be able to post later. I love the look and feel of the new site. Very eye catching. I wish you great success.
This is great Dawn. I am looking forward to all the yummy recipes. You go girl.
