Have you purchased an AirFryer yet? They’re in all the stores and on infomercials, and I’ve been wanting to try one. I finally found one with a large capacity frying area at Sams Club and decided to give it a whirl. If I end up liking it well enough I’ll give up my deep fryer and switch to only using the AirFryer.
For those of you who don’t know what one is, its an appliance that air fries food without using oil which means no added fat or calories. The idea behind it is the food will taste deep fried but won’t actually be. So far I’ve used it for fish, french fries, and this shrimp recipe. It came with a cookbook and a chart telling you how long to fry items, but I’ve noticed everything so far requires more time than it says.
I did 20 Jumbo Blackened Shrimp and it took 7 minutes to fry. I didn’t think that was too bad, and clean up is a breeze everything fits into the dishwasher, and my house doesn’t end up smelling like stinky deep fried bar food.
If you like spicy food this recipe is for you, if you don’t want it as spicy adjust the heat with the amount of cayenne and red chili flakes you use.
