Christmas Cabin After Dark

Christmas Cabin at NightIf you remember awhile back I shared with you the day time version of this photo and promised I’d be back to show you the cabin after dark. Well here it is, very simple I know but it works for me and fits the house design so well that I felt it needed nothing more.

Christmas Cabin at NightSimple wreaths on the windows and doors and tiny white lights on the boxwoods in the whisky barrels. It was easy getting night time shots since it’s dark about 5:30 these days. Makes me want to put my pj’s on until I realize it’s not late at all.

Christmas Cabin at NightOur weather has been so mild the mums in my barrels are still living, I know it helps that they’re under the porch roof but I thought for sure they would have died off by now. I just have to remember to keep them watered, and that goes for the boxwoods too.

Christmas Cabin at NightThey’re easy to forgot, we don’t need to water things here in the winter normally due to all the snow, but with these being under cover I will have to mark my calendar to remind myself.

Christmas Cabin at NightI have to get my Christmas shopping done today no matter what. Everything will be ordered online, and I can’t put it off another day. Im shopping for boys and I find their want list not very exciting at all so it’s hard to make myself shop. I don’t even know what half the things are but they want them so I will shop 🙂

A cabin in the woods! How welcoming! I’m guessing El Nino is the culprit with the mild winter weather back east. Here, in Arizona, cold weather and supposedly more rain than usual this winter.
Have fun shopping online for the boys!

Kathleen yes El Nino is the problem so far it looks like no snow for Michigan this winter. Nothing predicted all the way through January 🙁 It’s killing our winter sports fun.

Susan I can’t believe the mums either but we’ve had crazy weather this winter so I guess anything can happen.

I love seeing the cabin in the dark.

I thought about photographing our house at night, all lit up, but now it’s too late. Maybe I should have Lulu’s sitter take a picture and send it to me.

What beautiful pictures. We also have no snow to speak of. We have had snow 3 times so far and got a mild spell and lost it.
This time last year we had a couple of feet. ( Northern Ontario, Canada)

Dawn, your house always looks so cozy. Especially at night with the decorations.
The weather here in Ohio has been like spring. Not very Christmasy, but I am enjoying it!
    Have a very Merry Christmas.

Theresa same weather here and I miss the snow, just doesn’t’ seem like Christmas. I haven’t even work a coat yet this winter.
