Clean and Refreshing Rosemary Citrus Simmer Pot After A Wood Burner Incident
Yikes my house smells like charred wood! Yes thatโs right I had a malfunction with the pellet stove and I woke up at 3 AM smelling charred wood, something familiar to setting around a campfire thatโs been put out.
I really didnโt want to crawl out of bed but I knew I had to make sure the cabin wasnt burning down, so I crawled out from underneath my nice warm quilt and headed down to the basement to see what was going on.
I first turned the lights on and took a good look around for smoke. I didnโt see any hanging in the air and the smoke detecters never went off so I figured Iโd caught whatever the problem was pretty quickly.
Luckily the pellet burner had just went out do to a factory installed door seal put in incorrectly, but that was after 2 hours of research that I figured that out, any who I resolved that issue but still had a stinky house.
I decided to clean the air with whatever I had laying around and make myself a simmer pot. I had 4 lemons that looked pretty rough, one grapefruit and a bunch of rosemary sprigs. I sliced them all up and let them simmer on the stove until the smell had vanished.
Iโve since removed the door from the pellet burner, removed the glass, fixed the seal and Iโm back in business and the cabin smells fresh and clean again.ย
Glad it was not more serious for you Dawn I bet your house smells so good now! Merry Christmas!m
Jeanie, Me too we’ve had a house fire before and I didnt want to revisit that!
