Country Wedding Photo Edits

Country Living | Wedding | CreativeCainCabin.comBefore and After Wedding Photo Edits | CreativeCainCabin.comHave you ever been to a country wedding? In my neck of the woods you wear cowboy/cowgirl boots with formal dresses and weddings are held in barns filled with the smell of horses and hay.

Country Living | Wedding | CreativeCainCabin.comBefore and After Wedding Photo Edits | CreativeCainCabin.comI wanted to show you a few pictures from a wedding I shot and you’ll notice how different they look compared to what you normally see here. I have a totally different photo editing style when it comes to weddings, family, and senior pictures.

Country Living | Wedding | CreativeCainCabin.comBefore and After Wedding Photo Edits | CreativeCainCabin.comI feel like I can actually be more creative and put my personal style into the editing. You can see the image on the left is SOOC (Straight out of the camera) and the image on the right has been tweaked to fit my personal style. There’s certainly nothing wrong with SOOC but I love how creative I can be with editing.

Country Living | Wedding | CreativeCainCabin.comBefore and After Wedding Photo Edits | CreativeCainCabin.comMy favorite software is Lightroom and Photoshop, but I do also use PicMonkey and when I do a tutorial (for here on the blog) I find a way to get that Photoshop look using Picmonkey. For me I like a matte finish with a vintage muddy feel to the photo, and I can do it all with a few editing clicks so why not improve on an already great shot.

Country Living | Wedding | CreativeCainCabin.comBefore and After Wedding Photo Edits | CreativeCainCabin.comThere’s so many possibilities when it comes to editing, I think everyone just has to find their style and stay true to it. Especially when I get paid for a portrait session. Clients see photos of mine and expect to get the same look from their session. Do you feel like you can recognize an artist by the look of a photo, painting, or drawing?

I enjoyed the article about the “muddied” pictures effect & do appreciate the difference. Do you have any photo examples of “senior” photos with the muddied effect?
    Thanks.
