A Day At The Orchard: Apple and Peach Picking
Its apple and peach picking season here in the mitten state. We had one nice sunny day during the week so hubby and I made the trip to the orchard.
We primarily went to pick peaches, since my peach tree only produced 3 peaches this year, we had to find another source. I was quite surprised we even got three, with our spring frost, but we did.
Hubby and I each had a basket to fill, I think in all we picked 1/2 bushel of peaches and 1/2 bushel of apples. We didnโt intend on picking apples but since we were there we picked.
This sounds crazy but I only had one peach and one apple from what we picked, hubby had the rest. I have no idea how he ate that many peaches and apples before they went bad but he did.
I guess Iโm glad they didnโt go to waste. I figured Iโd make apple chips with the apples that he didnโt eat and I freeze the peaches but I never had to do any of that work.
It was such a nice day to be outside soaking up the last of the Michigan summer sun. Our nights are dropping into the low 40โs so before I know it we will see frost.
