DIY Online Room Planner for Furniture Arranging
As you know I stated in an earlier post I was changing the colors I’m using in the house for the rest of the winter months. I also knew I wanted to rearrange the furniture while I was at it. I was mentally making the changes in my head before I tackled moving heavy pieces here and there, standing back and looking, and doing it all over again. Then I started thinking there has to be a free program online that will let me play with furniture arrangement before I actually start moving furniture. Well I was right, there certainly is and it’s called Room Sketcher. It’s super easy to use too. Everything is drag and drop, and there’s quite a large selections of furniture pieces to choose from.
I started with drawing the floor plan to our main level, added the walls, window, doors, and flooring and then started playing with furniture. You wouldn’t have to go to that extend but it was fun to visually see how things could work around windows and door. I’ve never arranged our living room like this before so I’m glad I took the time to mess around in Room Sketcher and come up with something new.
Look at all that back breaking work this program saved me. If you have a minute pop on over and give it a try, it’s fun to play with and you just might find a new furniture arrangement that you haven’t used before. I’m glad I have a loft to take photos from so you can see I used the same arrangement as the program. I’ll be back soon to show you all the Navy Blue and Rust features in the room without an overhead view.

Debbie I can’t believe I never looked for a room planner before now. It sure comes in handy.
Thanks for the recommendation! I’m going to check it out. I’ve been trying to decide if a sectional would be a better fit for our family room than a couch and love seat. This might help me figure it out 🙂
Kathi yes this program would be perfect for seeing how a sectional would look. I’d love to do one too but just can’t get it to work with our window and door placement to get a good flow.
