Fall Wreath
I’m doing my darndest to stay one step ahead of Fall with my decorating. For those of you who didn’t hear, I started school full time and wow is it an eye opener. I attend 4 days a weeks plus try to keep up this blog, cook, clean, do laundry, and everything in between. I need to clone myself somehow and I’m sure that’s how several of you feel. I have a blog calendar going with things that need to be made, photographed, and just general ideas. Never in my life would I have thought I had to schedule my time around homework and brownie baking. And here’s a little spoiler alert: I have also started a new blog with 4 friends that will be launching soon. I must be crazy right?
Here is the second thing I accomplished in my Fall decorating process; a new wreath for the front door I actually made 2 one for the side entrance too, and they are exactly the same, I had no time to have a new creative idea for both wreaths. So twins they are ๐ If you remember I wanted to incorporate some turquoise into this years fall decor so I added a little burlap ribbon in turquoise to the grapevine wreath. I am reusing the same wreaths from last year and they already had the orange sunflower and some greenery attached so I just added the few new things I picked up. I stopped at Hobby Lobby for the burlap and yellow stem of flowers and hit the Dollar Store for the cream ones.
For under $10 I recycled last years wreaths into something different for this year. They take up so much storage room so anytime I can reinvent them means less stuff stacking up in the basement. It’s amazing how fast decor items can overtake a space. I’ve also been working on getting the rest of my doors painted. Remember I was going to paint one a day until it was done. Well that never happened, but I am halfway done now. Painting for me isn’t enjoyable so I have to do it when the mood strikes me. I know I will have them all done before the weather gets bad because I have too, but some days painting just doesn’t sound appealing to me whatsoever.
I did reward myself and took time out of my busy schedule to watch a high school football game. It’s just not the same when my kids are no longer on the field, but it did take my mind off things for a few hours.
Love the wreath and that bucket of sunflowers. Yes, you must be crazy. I hope you can juggle it all.
Me too Kim, This week has been crazy. I hope is calms down.
Oh pretty – love the sunflowers and the touch of turquoise!
Thank you Sharon, turquoise is my new color. LOL
The wreaths look great. Good luck on school. When I went back to work a few years ago, I found that it was much harder to keep up with my blog, but it can all work out with some good planning. It sounds like you’ve got the planning down, which is great!
Have a good week!
Pam
Pam, I have my calendar and my lists now if it all just works out. Looks great on paper, but I think I may have to sacrifice sleeping. LOL
Sounds like you definitely need that calendar! I hope you don’t run yourself ragged. Make sure to take good care of yourself!
Ann, so far so good. Who needs sleep?? LOL
Love your wreath and the accents of blues are going so well with your Fall decor! I have the same little blue pumpkin from Hobby lobby.
Debbie, great minds think alike and pick up the same decor items ๐
The turquoise looks so good!!
Thank you Barb, I am enjoying a new color for my fall decor.
Hi Dawn,
So happy you started back to school. I know it will totally be so worth it when you get your degree. Love the wreath and I am excited to see what this new venture is. Good luck glad the first week is over. This is always the hardest so it should be better from here on out. Good luck my friend.
Kris
Kris, I hope it gets better. The first week was awful. We had a horrible accident in our community killing one teen, one is in a coma, and the other is just banged up. All friends of my boys. It has been devastating and with school on top of it, it made for a long and sad week.
Dawn – congrats on being back to school – I am so envious!! Your wreath is great…but I LOVE that turquoise table!!
Cheryl, thank you. The table was green but I gave it a little facelift to fit the new turquoise theme.
Your wreath is beautiful. Congrats on starting school. I know when I’m super busy I tend to be more organized. I’m sure it will all go very well for you. Sharing your blog and fb on my fb tonight. ๐
Thank you Megan ๐ I appreciate the share!!
Good morning Dawn, a very busy week you had. Hope for a good school year for you. I so enjoy your blog. I’m sorry to hear about your son’s friends. Praying for them. Love the fall wreaths too! Kathleen in Az
Kathleen, thank you for the prayers we are still needing the here, it is a heartbreaking time for sure.
Dawn your wreath is very nice . I know women are great multi-taskers….but be careful you do not over do it. I enjoy reading your blog.
Thank you Cheryl, I am trying to pace myself and giving myself one night a week off to do something I enjoy. Thank you for the concern ๐
Dawn, way to go with school! Don’t be too hard on yourself if something has to give.
Your wreath looks great and I love the touch of turquoise. Love seeing your big dog too. ๐
Stacey, than you for the words of advice. So far I am keeping up with everything but Im sure it won’t stay this way ๐
Love, love your wreath! Beautiful colors! Have fun in school. It is always a little overwhelming at first, but once you get into a routine, it will go by fast. I finished my degree while my husband was in the military and gone all the time, I was raising three small kids almost by myself, I worked full time outside the home and went to school in the evenings. Those were really crazy times! LOL Take care of yourself. Hugs, Maria
MariaElena, Wow what a busy schedule you had. You are right I am getting into the classes and know what is expected so it’s easier.
Love your porch! It is so bright and cheerful. Really makes you want to come and knock on the door!:)
Thank you Pamela ๐
