File Organizer turned Planter

I found this wire, hanging file organizer at TJMaxx and knew exactly what I would use it for the minute I spotted it.
The outside of our log home has a dark stain and I though using it as a planter would bring some lighter colors and visual interest into the mix.

I lined each compartment with burlap, a little dirt, and a few flowers and vines.

I really like how it looks, but the plants dry out quickly.

So to solve that problem I hit Target and purchased two of the glass watering globes.

Now I just fill them once a day and let them do the work.

  10. Great idea, I had those in my shopping basket but put them back, now I wish I had them. Have you tried the product soil moist, its a petroleum based granule, that expands when it gets wet. I use it in all my burlap or coco liner planters. Come on over and check out my blog barnnumber2.blogspot.com,,,
