HERE’S A FEW GARDEN SHED EXTERIOR DECOR IDEAS I’VE COME UP WITH FOR ADDING A LITTLE FARMHOUSE FEEL TO THE SURROUNDING AREA!

Ideas For Decorating The Outside Of A Garden Shed Using Rustic Farmhouse FindsRemember the toy shed build (Here, Here, and Here)? Well it’s no longer for big boy toys as my son is in the process of converting a barn into a house and will no longer be in need of the shed.

Beginning Stages Of Decorating A Garden Sheds Exterior

So guess what? That’s right…..I’m claiming it! I don’t care about the inside as much as I do the outside. It looks like a fun spot to decorate, and that’s exactly what I’ll be up to this next week.

Mowing Down The Weeds Around The Garden Shed

Hubby got out the bobcat and brushcat and mowed down all the weeds on either side of the shed, then I gave the edges up close to the base a good dose of organic weed killer so I could create a planting space.

Before I started lugging heavy things around I decided to go to my computer and generate a garden plan. It’s so much easier this way, I can get my vision on paper first and then I can get to work.

Mowing Around A Garden Shed And Pulling Weeds

Hubby leveled off the dirt and then brought me the last of the big rocks we had on the property (note to self….get more rocks). This area only gets morning sun, but I believe it’s just enough to grow Hostas, Red Ornamental Grass, and Blackeyed Susan’s.

I’ll add the Hosta to take up space and they don’t need maintenance, and the Black-eyed Susan’s and Grass for Color. I’m making the sign and already have everything I need, the bench was gifted to me by a friend, we have yards of mulch on site that I can use, and I’ll add a birdhouse from my garden junk stash. The only purchase I’ll have to make is the plants and most things are on clearance right now so it’s a good time to buy.

P.S. I have most of the project done and can’t wait to show you the results so come back next Sunday and see how it turned out and see which design I went with.
