Chocolate Chip Cookies

Part of my weekly routine is baking cookies or some sort of goodie for the kids lunches for the week, and today Chocolate Chip Cookies are what’s on the agenda. It’s so much easier to buy store bought, but I enjoy baking and the family prefers homemade. I use the same chocolate chip cookie recipe my Mom has used for years and they turn out perfectly, golden brown and delicious every time. I haven’t had a complaint yet, and teenage boys seem to polish them off quickly. Although they seem to devour anything that’s sweet and within their reach.

I have people ask me for the recipe all the time, and after making them they say they don’t taste like mine. I have come to the conclusion that mine must taste different because I use the dump method. I seldom actually measure the ingredients. I can tell by the texture if enough flour has been added, and of course the rest of the ingredients are fairly simple. I also use a convection oven and that makes them bake differently too.

I love this recipe because all the ingredients are simple and stocked in everyones pantry, no running to the store for some crazy item you’ve never heard of. Simple, homemade goodness is all this recipe consists of. My best tip for making Chocolate Chip Cookies is double the amount of chips, you can never go wrong with lots of chocolate. If you like cookies you will need to give these a try.

    Love that-by Mom!
Chocolate Chip cookies have always been my go-to cookies.
Probably because I always have the ingredients, as you said.
Next time I’ll take your advice and add extra chips!
