The Last Sunflower Blooms From My Fall Garden

Sunflower, Fall, Bouquet

Wow I can’t believe it’s almost fall! The last of my sunflowers are fading and a big storm took those last few stragglers down, along with our power. I always plant sunflowers from seeds collected from the previous year for cut flower arrangements.

This batch you see is the first cutting for me and also the last of them. Time just got away and with the horrid heat we had here the last thing I wanted to do was be out in the garden fighting off the mosquitos and dripping with sweat.

When it finally cooled down I snipped these beauties to enjoy on the front porch. I can’t believe the summer is over. Where has the time went? I took quite a break from blogging and it feels good to be back at it.

I spent my off time purging closets and a big portion of the basement.  I now wonder what I’ll blog about I’ve discarded so many decorating items. Hopefully I’ll still manage. It feels good to get things weeded out and more manageable.

It always amazes me how things can just get shoved into a closet or into the basement and forgotten. Well not actually forgotten just out of sight for the moment.

I have a friend who’s daughter was moving back into the state so she gladly took things off my hands to decorate her new place. It’s always nice to see someone else get some use out of things.

Thank you for dropping by today, and thank you to everyone who sent me messages as to where I’ve been the last few months. Hugs to all!

  1. Missed you!! We had a garage sale for the first time this summer and got rid of loads of things and what was left went to Goodwill….It is amazing what we collect over the years

    1. Jeanie, Good for you! I bet it felt so good to see things go. I know a garage sale is a lot of hard work, I commend you on putting one together. I agree somehow we keep stuff that we’ll never use again. Once we finally find a new house I want a small one so there’s no place to keep things, lol.
