How to Layer a Christmas Tray
I finally went yesterday and purchased a Christmas tree, I’m extremely late this year, and wanted to share with you the ornament colors that I’ll be using by showing a simple how to for decorating a Christmas tray. Last year I picked my colors around the slipcovers and throw pillow selection I was using at the time. It worked well last year so I’m doing the same this year. The colors I’ll be using are Silver, Blush, Gold, Bright Green, and Rust.
To create the tray above I rounded up my $1 GW tray, pine clipping from the trees in our fenceline, faux white berries, pinecones in 3 different sizes, and the ornament colors I’m working with this year. From there all you have to do is start layering. It only took a few minutes to put together and I like it so much I even thought about skipping the tree all together, but then I came to my senses and set aside time to decorate the tree later today.
Here’s the process:
- Tray
- Pine clippings
- Faux white berries
- Pine cones in several sizes
- Ornaments
So easy, and so delightful to look at on our coffee table. It’s one of my favorite arrangement for Christmas this year so far.
I love decorating trays and boxes at Christmas.
I need to change my centerpiece today because we are actually home for dinner for the first time in nearly a week – the party season is on! Anyway, I am going to layer a yellow box with greens and red.
Carol take pics I bet it will be pretty!
Beautiful Dawn.
Thank you Kris I hope the rain holds off for your pics today ๐
I truly love how you are pulling all your colors together, from room to room. The mustard being your accent color and the star of each and now adding a second accent color that being rust, just the makings of a lovely home. I’m so happy that you got your tree and prayers for your son. God Bless .
Joy thank you so much for the prayers, before long I will post the whole thing on the blog but right now just isn’t the time.
A pretty tray! I like that you chose the colors you love and incorporate them into your Christmas colors. Happy you got a tree:) Kathleen in Az
Kathleen I went the easy route this year, lol.
Looks good Dawn. Thanks for your recent reply. I got all my green from Home Depot and Lowe’s and the pine cones from
the white pines from my neighbors backyard. Otherwise it would have cost a mint to make 13 arrangements so far. Enjoy your week.
Debbie lucky you to score so many for free, they look wonderful:)
