Log Cabin Kitchen With Blue and Green Decor

If you missed my last post of where I switched the living room over to blue and green: you can go back and see that here. Since the kitchen is adjoining and itโs an open floor plan I decided to swap the colors around in here as well.

Iโve had the blue and white buffalo check fabric for quite some time, I made living room curtains from it and always clipped a scrap of it up over the kitchen window. Well I got feisty and decided to drag out the sewing machine and make a proper valance for the window.

Youโll probably see a lot more of this color in the cabin since Iโve spent so much time weeding out things from my dรฉcor stash. I have very little left to work with but if you donโt mind seeing me reuse things in different ways Iโll be giving it a go and using the things in different rooms and in different ways.

I normally keep the window bare in winter so it lets more light in but I was ready for a change. I know its nowhere near spring yet but Iโm transition there by adding the blue and green touches to get me over the winter hump.

Here in Michigan weโve finally got dumped on with snow. Up until now itโs been a pretty uneventful winter here in these parts. Itโs been cold, dark, and dreary, but manageable. Hubby plowed the drive for the first time just this week.

The reflection off the snow really brightens up the cabin and gave me the gumption to do a little redecorating. Normally this time of year we donโt see the sun, so it was a welcomed sight and spurred me into the redecorating mood.ย
