The dreadful cold and flu season is upon us here in Michigan. In the last 3 months Iโ€™ve had the stomach flu and the respiratory type. Lucky me, right?

Our family has never been much on western medicine weโ€™ve always relied on our own bodyโ€™s immune system to heal itself. When the need arises we do add herbs, and essential oils to help overcome something, lessen its severity, or quicker healing time.

Iโ€™ve been reading on the healing power of Elderberries used for cold and flu and to give our immune system a boost. Making a batch of Elderberry syrup sounded like the right thing to do and I started using it right away.

I take one teaspoon every morning for immune support but if I feel something coming on I take one teaspoon every hour until the symptoms go away. If the sickness is already there I use the once an hour method also.
