IT’S COLD AND FLU SEASON AND THE PERFECT THING FOR A QUICK RECOVERY IS ELDERBERRY SYTUP, AND TO MAKE IT EASY WHIP IT UP IN THE INSTANT POT!

How to Make Elderberry Syrup in the Instantpot Using Fresh or Dehydrated Berries

The dreadful cold and flu season is upon us here in Michigan. In the last 3 months I’ve had the stomach flu and the respiratory type. Lucky me, right?

Our family has never been much on western medicine we’ve always relied on our own body’s immune system to heal itself. When the need arises we do add herbs, and essential oils to help overcome something, lessen its severity, or quicker healing time.

I’ve been reading on the healing power of Elderberries used for cold and flu and to give our immune system a boost. Making a batch of Elderberry syrup sounded like the right thing to do and I started using it right away.

I take one teaspoon every morning for immune support but if I feel something coming on I take one teaspoon every hour until the symptoms go away. If the sickness is already there I use the once an hour method also.

If you decide to use this recipe it contains honey and be aware of its use in children under one years of age. You can also leave out the honey it will just have a bitter taste.

My bestsie puts it on her pancakes and waffles. You can also add it to tea. There’s many way to use it just get creative and let me know how you use it in the comments below.
