I’m excited to share with you a new series I’m starting called, “Talk Till Dawn”, I want this to be about my everyday life, the things I’m reading, eating, my everyday ups and down, along with photos that I’ve taken over the week. My life and home is far from perfect even though I always share with you pretty home decor picture. Now from time to time I’ll give you a look at how things can get out of control like everyone else’s life. Thanks for joining with me in reading of the ... continue reading...
Jalapeno Cheddar Bread
This is the time of year that I start thinking about comfort food. Something that's easy yet filling and delicious. One of my go to foods is a grilled cheese sandwich and warm crusty homemade bread. To me it just hits the spot! I normally purchase my Jalapeno Cheddar Bread from our local farmers market but with all the lockdowns I decided I'd adapt one of my favorite and EASY recipes and make my own. The only inconvenience is it's not something you can make up and bake right away, it ... continue reading...
How To Updated A Dining Table and Chairs With Paint
So this paint project has been on my to do list for almost a year and I’ve finally got around to doing it. I swapped out my farmhouse table, moved it into the office, and replaced it with this round dining table. Once I got it in place I noticed how horrible the wood floor color and the table stain color clashed. The floor has orange undertones, which I hate, and the table has yellow undertones, that I equally hate. Rather than strip it all down and end up with an entire new stain color that I ... continue reading...
Meet The Pekin Ducks Marigold and Daisy
Meet the new editions to the coop, Marigold and Daisy, Pekin ducks. For those of you who follow me on a regular basis you know I raise a batch or two of meat chickens every year. They take about 8 weeks from start to finish and then I clean and close up the coop for the rest of the years. Well not this year, I’ve had a couple of ducks move in. These are actually part of my DIL’s flock. By the way Marigold and Daisy are names I gave them she didn’t have them named. She has another batch of ... continue reading...
Adding A Touch Of Fall To The Chicken Coop’s Exterior
Outside the chicken coop seems to be one of my favorite places to decorate. Now that I have it painted, the stock tank in place, and a few rustic pieces I thought why not add a little fall décor to it. My DIL and I popped into Lowes for a bag of bird seed and found their 3 color mum bundles on clearance for $5. I was surprised to see them marked down already, but since they were I grabbed a few to use around the chicken coop. I didn’t want to spend a lot of money so with 2 mum ... continue reading...
Roadside Pumpkin Patch In The Country
Screeeeech! Stop the car! It was one of those moments while out cruising the back road with my DIL that we ran across this cute as ever roadside pumpkin stand all decked out for fall with the most quaint farmhouse charm. I’ll have to admit the old truck caught my eye right away. There’s nothing better than an old truck. Riding around with the windows down, hair blowing in the breeze and the truck bed filled with harvest from the farm. Can’t you just picture it now? Of course ... continue reading...
