THE PERFECT FALL WEATHER FOOD, IT’S EASY, FILLING, AND MAKES YOU FEEL COZY INSIDE: A PEAR, MUSTARD GOUDA CHEESE, AND JALAPENO BREAD GRILLED CHEESE SANDWICH!
It’s that time of year when I start dreaming about all the hearty cozy meals I can make. One pot meals like soups and stews are simple and filling and paired with a grilled cheese sandwich makes it the perfect meal. (You can find my favorite crock pot soup and stew recipes by clicking here.)
For some reason Hubby’s been craving cheese for a couple of weeks now and while we were in the grocery store he was picking through the cheese isle looking for something to cure his craving. I looked at him and said ugh not grocery store cheese, let’s go to the farmers market and get some GOOD cheese. And when I say good cheese I mean mouth watering, full of flavor, exceptional cheese.
So that’s just what we did, we sampled and bought $40 worth of amazing cheese along with a loaf of homemade Jalapeno Cheese bread. We couldn’t wait to get home to make grilled cheese sandwiches. I decided to be lazy so we stopped by Panera for our soup. When we got home I went out to the orchard and picked fresh Asian pears from the tree to add to our grilled cheese.
I love apples or pears on cheese sandwiches it’s the perfect combination of sweet and savory. If the heat of Jalapeno Bread is too hot for you I suggest trying this on home made sourdough bread. It was a good morning spent strolling the farmers market and picking out some well aged cheese.
