While in Franklin Tennessee hubby and I had the opportunity to visit four Plantation Homes.
These homes were affected by the Civil War.
You see Franklin Tennessee experienced one of the bloodiest battles of the Civil War fought right here on the soil of these beautiful homes.
These home were turned into hospitals and housed many wounded and dying soldiers from both the North and the South.
Here is the graveyard on the Plantations property.
There are only soldiers buried on this 2 acre plot.
It is quite an experience seeing inside these homes and hearing of the lives these people lived.  If you ever have a chance, visit this area of our Country, you will get quite a history lesson.
If you missed day one of our trip click here and here.

Well, you got to see things I have not had a chance to. When we visit our son and family we just spend time at the house with the grands and don’t get to do much else. Going to have to find time to do more sightseeing.

Oh that second one with the wonderful stairs to second floor entry is just stunning. My husband and I love to walk through old cemeteries. We are funny like that but really it is so interesting the read all the old headstones. We are total history buffs.

So cool! Wasn’t the Widow of the South based in Franklin? Loved that book and love seeing these pics to make it more real.

I’ve always wanted to see that part of the country. The photos you took are beautiful.

Thanks for visiting my latest post. Those dishtowels & the rooster dish were all from Sur La Table. It’s a kitchen accessories store. Do you have them in your area? The rooster & hen transfers are so vivid, I just love ’em!
