Rustic Porch Entrance In Blue and Green
Hereโs the last view of the side porch done in green and blue that Iโm going to share before I add a few, very few in fact, touches of fall to it.ย
The only new purchase that I made was the outdoor blue area rug. What I had there was in need of replacement and this one caught my eye while exiting Sams Club so I picked it up.
By the way, see that Boston Fern? Iโm going to try and cut it back and keep it over the winter to use again next year. The reason I think it will work is I cut one down that was heavily frosted this year and just left it to see if it would come back and it did. It took it all season to be full again so Im figuring by cutting it back it would be perfect timing to put it out again next spring.ย
I have a tendency to overwater things so Iโll have to remind myself that ferns do well with less sunlight and neglect. I have have a bird that is nesting in the birdhouse hooked to that old shutter. At this late in the year Iโm assuming itโs just renting the place not actually laying eggs.ย
I put it there for ornamental purposes and never thought a bird would actually move in. This side of our house gets the most activity as itโs the door we use more than any of the others, but I guess the bird didnโt mind.ย
Heck when I snapped these photos I didnโt even bother removing the broom I use to sweep off the porch. Did you happen to notice the green mailbox next to the broom? It opens from the front and its the perfect spot for me to keep my garden pruners and a pair of garden gloves. I love having the secret hiding spot.ย
The porch certainly isnโt fancy, but itโs the right amount of rustic with a little color for my taste!ย
I love the bird house – great character!
