Shiplap Chalk Paint On Mason Jars
Do you ever get a brilliant idea all planned out in your head only to have it fail? Well that’s what happened to me. I was really wanting a row of hobnail vases filled with leafy greens running across the stand under the tv. I knew I’d seen all kinds of them at our local Hospice store, so I set out on a mission to get them at a terrific price. When I got there I went right to the place the vases are kept and nothing. WHAT??? those things have sat there forever!!! Apparently they didn’t sell so into the trash bin they went.
I was very disappointed so I had to go with plan B. Paint Mason jar that I already had in the color “Shiplap” from Magnolia Market. I’ll keep the vases on my garage sale list but I’m liking the mason jar look just fine. The pooch and me walked along our tree line and gathered the branches. I have no idea what kind they are but theY last forever in water. I’ve had the same ones for two weeks before I decided to change them out, and I only did it because I felt I should they certainly weren’t wilting.
The old window you see behind the jars is from a garage sale. My bestie and me scored 8 of them for $1 each, all wooden frames with every window intact. SCORE!!! and to add a little more texture I painted two picture frames chalk paint gray and distressed them a little.
I have a new plan for covering up our tv and I’ll be back soon to show you what I’m up to. Don’t forget to follow me on INSTAGRAM to see things before they’re available here on the blog.
I love the whole look, Dawn – so cute!!
Thank Jen and I’m still using them, can’t wait to get some faux olive branches for them.
What a good idea! I have been blessed for years to have collected while hobnail milk glass finding them at many stores! I found a white shelf at goodwill and have it hanging in my bathroom with the milk glass!
Sometimes plan B is better! Glad your creative mind said I can still make something just as nice!
Love the windows and frame accent behind the cute jars!! Bravo.
