Sunflower

Nature managed to plunge ahead and provide a few, measly sunflowers for me to enjoy. I got a chuckle out of the Sunflower Survivors, the flowers that are normally 6 feet tall are a mere 6 inches tall in my garden. The deer finally left my garden alone long enough for these sunny faces to gain a little growth, and when I say a little I mean almost on the ground little. It just goes to show you the vitality, and perseverance of a single seed. Normally the faces are the size of dinner plates but these are the size of a coffee mug, well no matter what size they are I will enjoy their beauty why they last.

Sunflower

I was excited to see the few blooms that did survive. I am already planning to fence in the garden for next year, I so hate not having my own fresh veggies and flowers.

So beautiful, Dawn! I love the sunflowers. I only had one make it this year. It’s pretty and I love it, but I sure would have loved more. I think the birds found those sunflower seeds.

Claudia, I have to blame mine on the deer, the birds never had a chance.

Your sunflowers are lovely. Our Little Lulu destroyed mine her first week in our garden. Now she does not bother the flowers at all so my cosmos is finally blooming.
