Creative Cain Cabin's Talk Till Dawn Series

I’m excited to share with you a new series I’m starting called, “Talk Till Dawn”, I want this to be about my everyday life, the things I’m reading, eating, my everyday ups and down, along with photos that I’ve taken over the week.

My life and home is far from perfect even though I always share with you pretty home decor picture. Now from time to time I’ll give you a look at how things can get out of control like everyone else’s life.

Hiking Outfit Ideas

Warning heavy “Me” pics today! The photos you see are all from my iPhone; there either selfies or hubby was behind the lens. Oh and yes I love fall, all the layers of clothing, fun boots, and zero bad hair days because I can plop a hat on it.

If you follow me on Instagram I shared the close up photo of my face where I shared my over 50’s look. I add a little CC cream as foundation, and lip-gloss. Yep that’s it and out the door I go. There’s no filter or editing on the second photo down it’s just plain old me. And before you ask no I don’t whiten my teeth I think they’re just naturally white because I only drink water and have for over 25 years now.

Fall Outfit Ideas

The CC cream I wear is from Thrive Causmetics and the lip-gloss is by  Buxom in the color White Russian.  I had my eyelash extension taken off and I’m going with a more natural look these days.  Boy let me tell you it sure is freeing to be what I’d call more bare faced than ever (I know that’s not proper English but I’m going with it). I used to worry what people thought of the ways I looked but as I age I couldn’t care less. This is ME and this is how I look!

Fall Outfit Ideas, Old Truck

I’ll tell you a little secret if you ask me how old I am I’ll always respond promptly by saying 29 but in reality I’m actually 53. Just seeing that number amazes me, how in the heck did I get so old so fast. I still feel 29, think like I’m 29, and keep on the go like I’m 29. Now that I look at I’m sure I’m 29 LOL.

Fall Outfit Ideas, Apple Orchard

Now that I have that out of the way lets catch up on what else has been happening the month of October. If you read my past post you know I purchased a Speed Queen washer. Oh My Gosh!  I love that stinkin thing. It washes quickly, a 30 minute cycle no more hour and a half to get a load done, and actually cleans the clothes. If you missed that post go back and read it. Laundry is my favorite chore and this girl is once again the laundry queen!

Fall Outfit Ideas, Rustic Shed

Do you all remember me talking about my Granny, the one I call Grama Red due to her hair color? Well we’ve been ramming the streets lately, shopping going out to eat, and chatting up a storm.  She’s a whopping 100 years old and sharp as a tack, Her favorite place to eat is McDonalds of all places. I feel terribly guilty taking her out for a meal and serving that up to her, but it’s her favorite so I go along with it. She says there’s nothing better than a delicious hamburger and fries. I have to disagree with her about the burger but if she likes it that’s okay. We always top off the meal with a full fat hot chocolate too.

Fall Outfit Ideas

We made the rounds to Sam’s Club, Hobby Lobby and the Dollar Store. She’s considered legally blind so when we go into any place I push here on her walker going up and down each isle slowly so she can touch everything and I tell her what’s on every shelf as we go. She was so excited to find self-threading needles at Hobby Lobby. She loves to sew and has me thread here needle every time I come over for her. She’s just ecstatic now that she can do it again herself.

I know what you’re thinking how can someone who’s blind sew, I ask myself that too but she does, she hand sews and machine sews all by feel and even cuts out her own patterns for what she makes. Amazing right?

Fall Outfit Ideas

I also made a Halloween candy delivery to the fire station this week. Hubby and I donate it every year for the firefighter’s to hand out to all the trick-or-treaters. We live in a small town and the fire department has a limited budget for the things they need one of which isn’t candy so hubby and I would rather see their money go to safety gear so we take that purchase off their hands.

This year I was smart and didn’t bring the candy into the house I left it in my truck. Last year my son and fiancé hit the candy pretty hard and I had to buy more for Halloween, lol. I made sure this year to not have a repeat from last year.

Fall Outfit Ideas

Just yesterday I moved the throw pillow from the deck furniture into the house and discarded the last of my ferns that the frost got. Michigan sure is looking a lot like winter; the thick cloud cover is threatening snow here soon. I sure don’t feel like we had much of a fall this year. I see other bloggers are already decorating for Christmas. I’ve already stated I’m not decorating this year but I say that every year and end up doing it anyway.

Fall Outfit Ideas

I do know whatever I do will be free, easy, and natural. I just don’t like dragging everything out anymore and I need to donate the Christmas things I no longer use. Why store stuff for no reason?

Until next time take care and thank you for spending the time talking till dawn with me today!

Nice pictures and good for you for embracing easier ways to live. The minimal makeup looks fantastic and certainly more natural. Glad to hear your opinion on the Speed Queen washer. My husband told me about it when it first came out. Before then we weren’t sure what we would replace our washer with if it ever did finally quit. I should note it is about 30 years old and I love it! They just don’t make things like they used to.

Barb, I agree things are not made to last anymore with is shameful. We replace things and throw the old in the landfill, BTW that’s not what I do we recycle everything in our house, we don’t even have garbage service anymore.

Jeanie we had snow here last night. I was wishing for fall a while longer but mother nature is thinking differently I guess. Yes Grannie is a hoot, we were out running the streets yesterday and had a good time; she always enjoys it.

You are blessed with beautiful skin! I have roscea and need to cover the red blotches…but use a cover up, a little blush, eyeliner and lip gloss. My hair is shorter now…I shake it loose…it’s naturally curly…who knew? It’s so easy to look after now…no more flat iron!
It’s fall weather here on the East coast…my favourite time of year.m. Blustery, cool days…with dark brooding skies! I’m a nester…and have been collecting new Christmas decor for weeks. Can’t wait to decorate! Our youngest daughter & her husband are expecting their first baby…gender reveal is Nov 9th!! So excited!! We have three grand daughters…so pink is all I know!! But blue would be a welcome addition!!

Love your pictures. Your skin is lovely. Have you tried Thrive’s lash extending mascara?

Love your pictures! We think alike 😊 I’m rocking those knit hats, sweatshirts, vests, flannels. And how ironic that I got a new Speed Queen pair in September! Love them and the warranty. Wow!
