Talk Till Dawn – 24

Creative Cain Cabin's Talk Till Dawn Series

I’m excited to share with you a new series I’m starting called, “Talk Till Dawn”, I want this to be about my everyday life, the things I’m reading, eating, my everyday ups and down, along with photos that I’ve taken over the week.

My life and home is far from perfect even though I always share with you pretty home decor picture. Now from time to time I’ll give you a look at how things can get out of control like everyone else’s life.

Old Rusty Truck Decorated With Christmas Wreath and American Flag

I can’t believe I’ve been writing this series for two years now, where has the time gone? I do have to apologize for being missing the last few weeks. Somehow life just got in the way of keeping up with the blog. I didn’t even share our Christmas décor with you this year. I’ve decided I’ll hang on to those pics and do a Christmas in July post. I have no idea the thought behind Christmas in July but it it’s sharing décor pics I’m all set

Snowy Christmas Trees

We’ve had a very strange December here in Michigan for the past two weeks the temps have been in the 50’s and it feels like spring out. It certainly didn’t feel like Christmas this year that’s for sure. I even spent a few days sitting outside on the front porch enjoying the nice weather listening to the birds sing. If it keeps up I’ll be back mowing the lawn again, lol.

Rusted Tin Snowman

I’m on a mission right now with weeding out our basement, painting the log siding, and installing a drop ceiling so we can sell soon. Hopefully everything will be ready come spring and we can put it on the market. We have two homes to sell, and the market has more options to buy out there right now so fingers crossed we find a new place.

I want a one-story cottage less than 3,000 square feet. That will be downsizing for us, I said I’d like to go down to 1,000 square feet but that’s almost impossible to even find and I feel I may regret it down the road.  Cottage style homes are hard to find in my neck of the woods. It’s Victorian, Ranch, or old farm homes.

Red Barn in Winter

Hubby likes a ranch but it’s not my favorite. I was hoping with a cottage we’d find higher ceilings or could remove the drywall and make a higher pitched ceiling. Our home now had 30 ft ceiling so I’m used to a lot of headroom.

I’m going to cut this short and get to bed my house has been down over a week now sick and it’s still hanging on so off I go to rest. Please tell me how you spent your Christmas in the comments below, I’d love to hear.

Until next time take care and thank you for spending the time talking till dawn with me today!

  1. Loving the warmer weather we are having here. I am not a winter person!! Christmas has come and gone as I put all the decorations away yesterday and the house is back in order. Dawn, my Daughter is a realtor here in Jackson if you need any help at all. Good luck with getting everything ready for your move!! Get well soon!

    1. Jeanie, I wonder if your daughter knows my SIL she’s also a realtor in Marshall? Small world, right? Happy New Year and good for you getting your Christmas decor all down and packed away. It always feels good to have things back in order again.

  2. Christmas Day in St. Louis and surrounding towns saw 72 degrees! We were in tank tops, or Tshirts, and shorts. Had to turn on the A/C when the guests and extra dogs arrived—10 people, 6 dogs, in 900 sq ft home with no formal living room…..a 3000+ sq ft home sounds PERFECT right about now!!

Hope you and yours will recover quickly, and enjoy the remainder of 2019! Also hope you achieve all the goals you’ve set for 2020. Happy New Year!!

    1. Lisa that’s crazy how warm it was. Yes tank tops and shorts were seen here too, lol. That must be a record having to turn the AC on. Happy New Year!
