Creative Cain Cabin's Talk Till Dawn Series

I’m excited to share with you a new series I’m starting called, “Talk Till Dawn”, I want this to be about my everyday life, the things I’m reading, eating, my everyday ups and down, along with photos that I’ve taken over the week.

My life and home is far from perfect even though I always share with you pretty home decor picture. Now from time to time I’ll give you a look at how things can get out of control like everyone else’s life.

Lake

This beautiful picture I snapped with my phone while out fishing with hubby. The water was still as can be it looked like glass and made for the perfect photo and is currently the screen saver on my my phone.

The fishing has been horrible here for the last two months. We go out for hours and cast hundreds of times and nothing. I told hubby since we weren’t catching on any lakes lets try a river instead. We headed down to the river and the same thing; cast, cast again, and cast some more. By this time I was mindless casting and not paying attention then all of a sudden I caught something and it was something BIG. I hollered for hubby to grab the net. My fishing pole was doubled over while I struggled to land the creature. I told him I thought it was a shark, lol. Nope no shark but it was a big old CARP (a trash fish here in Michigan) it was over 2 feet long and ugly.

I certainly wasn’t proud of my catch at all, it was quite scary bringing in something so big. I told the story to Grama Red and when she retold it to my Uncle she told him I’d caught a Whale, lol. Well it wasn’t a whale but it sure felt like one.

If you’ve followed me over the years you’ve heard me tell stories of things that can only happen in a small town. Well this photo is one of those things. I dropped the milkweed seeds in the mail to everyone who wanted some and added a 10 dollar bill paper clipped to the package. My mailman picked it up and apparently it needed more postage and this is the letter I got back in the mail the next day.

Only in a small town can you put cash in the mailbox to mail a package and if it’s not enough the mailman pays the balance and collects what’s due the next day. Ah ya gotta love small town living.

Be on the lookout for your seeds everyone 🙂

Dow Gardens

The fall colors are beautiful right now here in Michigan. Hubby and I decided to do a weekend trip to the UP (upper peninsula) for the weekend. Well that didn’t pan out; I was looking for an AirBNB and the only thing that was available is a TENT. No way no how am I sleeping in a tent at 30 degrees at night, and I’m especially not going to pay for it. LOL. I guess we’ll just enjoy the colors right here in our own backyard.

I found it very odd people rented out tents and charged $25 a night for them. I don’t mind roughing it for a few days but I’m not going to pay to freeze and take the chance of a bear eating me in the night. I’m crazy but not that crazy.

Fall Pumpkins

I’m pretty sure this was our last nice week so I took the time to get all my outdoor fall decorating done. I’ll be back soon to share with you our fire pit area, back porch, and chicken coop area.

Till then, thank for taking the time to “Talk Till Dawn” with me 🙂 Blessing to all!
