Turkey Talk
I had family in town, no my family’s not turkeys, and we dined at a local spot called “Cornwells Turkeyville“, and I thought you might enjoy seeing a few Turkeys today. Everything on the menu is made from turkey or has turkey in it. Until recently they raised all the turkeys on site for their menu, and they still have quite a few that roam the property freely.
I was all about taking photos of the colorful turkeys, and they cooperated nicely. They’ll let you get up close and right in their face with a camera lens. The turkey farm seems to be a gathering spot for our family, It’s centrally located in Michigan and we all get together there once a month during the summer, have dinner, walk the grounds, and catch up on family happenings.
Now that the heat has subsided, back into the low 70’s, it’s nice to spend time outside again. I actually got both lawns mowed, the garden weeded, the chicken coop cleaned, and killed off some weeds in our landscaping. You’ve heard me say this before, I’m NO tropical girl. I don’t mind working hard and sweating but keep it in the 70’s for me.
I noticed even the turkeys are enjoying the shade. I’m quite curious to see how our Fall and Winter are this year. I hope we don’t have the extreme cold temps, and 2 week long power outages like we’ve had the last 2 years. Has anyone heard any predictions yet?
Love the photos of the turkeys…we are seeing lots of wild turkey around here….envious of your temps in the 70’s…a hot one here yesterday….and if you want to know about your upcoming winter weather….here is a link to the predictions….all I can say is it may be nice to think about a vacay in the South for the winter!! http://farmersalmanac.com/weather/2014/08/24/2015-us-winter-forecast/
Shirley we have wild ones all around us too, they are always out in our yard. I will check out the link, thanks ๐
Let’s talk Turkey Dawn! I love how you meet your family monthly, so important to connect. Mmmm El Nino could be in your favor if it arrives. For me too, much needed rain here in Az. 70s there? That’ll be our winter! 111 yesterday, sob! Kathleen in Az
Kathleen, it sure has been strange weather for about 5 years now, very unpredictable. Haha our winters will be 30 below zero. I would hate 111 ๐
Love turkeyville!! We were their last week!
How cool Jeanie. Do you live close by?
