Vintage Sheets

My Vintage Sheet hunt has been successful:)
If you remember I posted last week my
and was excited to get started on my new
“gotta have” sheet hunt.
Well lucky me…. Hubby had to go to town the other day and
I decided to tag along.
I hit GW, and look at all the vintage sheets I found, and
to top it off it was half price day so the most I paid was $1.50
for a Vintage Sheet.
I can’t wait to get started on all the projects I have planned for them.
Off to the sewing machine……
Stop in Thursday to see how two of the sheets have been used.

  1. I pick up old percale sheets at estate sales. We sleep on them. If you have some percales in that stack wash them in hot water and try them and you will never go back to this stuff they make now. Can’t wait to see what you are up too with the sewing machine.

  6. I was just telling my kids that I am really feeling old with people starting to collect the things that I bought when I first became a homemaker. I remember several of those designs and bet I could find many of them in my moms linen closet 🙂

  13. I am so envious, the old percale sheets are so soft and wonderful in the summer if you get sun burned at all. To think I got rid of the old sheets I had from ours and the kids beds, duh. I gave them to the thrift store. Can I kick myself now or should I wait about a year? Can hardly wait to see what miracles you perform with those old sheets. You sure hit it lucky girl. What a haul. I’ll have to look more carefully tomorrow when we go to town and visit Habitat and Goodwill.

  14. So funny. I just told my mom on Sunday to be on the lookout for old sheets for me. I love the look and the feel of them. I have a great old cabinet upstairs in my hallway that I am trying to fill to overflowing with them. They are great for tablecloths, picnic blankets, or just stacked to look pretty. I can’t really sew so I have to use them for simple things.

Love that you found so many great ones.

Do any of your sheets have the name VERA in the corner of them? If so, they are worth more. She had household items, scarves, dishes and to a collector they go for a good price. when I am looking at 60s things I always look for her name. I have some scarves of hers and got them for 1.00 at a garage sale.

Does that mean my old Vera soft plastic placemats would still be worth something, I might have some sheets, too.
