Weight Loss Chocolate Covered Strawberry Smoothie

, Great For Kids, Easy To Make, Packed Full of Fruit and Veggies For a Simple On The Go Meal

Bikini season is creeping up on us you know (well maybe for some of you it’s bikini season). I laugh and say if they make a bikini that comes in a turtleneck and hangs to my knees I’m all set. This girl will never be bikini ready again. It’s just a reality at my age things just don’t look as good as they did in my 20’s and I wouldn’t want to scare anyone by revealing all that flesh at one time.

But on a better note if you’re looking to drop a few pounds this shake is a yummy, satisfying, and filling meal replacement. You can even replace 2 meals a day if you wanted and for the remaining meal just eat healthy. I also love a smoothie because it’s fast and I can take it on the go. With the weather starting to get warmer, it looks like we’ll be in the 60’s this week, I welcome a smoothie rather than a hot breakfast.

I have tried several blenders and find the more expensive ones don’t always work better for liquefying the frozen berries or crushing ice, so do some research before buying. If you find your blender isn’t doing the job you may want to make a change. The one I use is Healthmaster Elite, I’ve tried others like the Kitchenaid  (that’s way more expensive) and find it can’t hold up to frozen things the gear at the bottom always becomes stripped, and I’m normally a huge fan of Kitchenaid products.  The idea behind a smoothie is to get a shake like texture not a lumpy drink right?

So give this a try when and let me know what you think, and believe me you’ll never taste that handful of spinach you drop in. Is anyone else in a mad rush to get a few pounds off before summer?

  2. Dawn, this was perfect timing. We have a wedding next month and after trying on a few things out of my closet yesterday I just told my daughter it is time for me to get back on track with eating right and exercising. I would love to have something I could take with me that is healthy. I’ve never tried coconut milk but this sounds delicious. I’m going to give it a try. Thanks for the recipe.
