What Did You Ask For This Valentine’s Day

10 in. Sliding Compound Miter Saw with Laser Guide System | Chicago Electric Power Tools | Harbor Freight

Did you request diamonds and pearls, or maybe a big box of candy this year? Those are the normal things girls ask for on Valentine’s Day but not this girl. Nope not me I wanted my very own Miter Saw.

There’s so many times I want NO NEED to do a project when our nice big expensive miter saw is either on hubby’s truck, at a job site, or in a job trailer and I have to wait patiently, which I’m not good at, to complete my brilliant idea.

So I made mention to hubby that I would like my very own to keep in the house along with the other tools I have (I have to hide my own stash, not to mention any names but others that live in this house use them and they never end up back in my toolbox). Just saying a girl needs her own tools sometimes. Hubby must have been paying attention because he went out and purchased me a Miter Saw.

I did make it clear that I wanted something I could lift on my own and inexpensive; it’s not much good if I have to wait for a man to be around to haul it around for me and I don’t need a top of the line model. I was so anxious to give it a go that I did my first project right on the dining room table. I hooked my vacuum up to the sawdust discharge port and turned it on in hopes it would collect most of the dust. Note to self, NOT such a brilliant idea. I still had a mess to clean up. Next time I will have to use it outside for sure.

Picture Shelf

Here’s a sneak peek of what I built, and if you come back on Sunday you can see the reveal. So tell me are you a tool girl like me or do you like the fancy stuff for Valentine’s Day?

Dust is awful. The headphones are to use with the new wood chipper/shredder that we just bought. Can’t wait for nicer weather to try it out. Today we bought a new air compressor. Can’t pass up the good deals as we see them.

I think a miter saw seems like a perfectly normal gift for a handy girl like you.

Now you have me thinking about what I might want. I want to find an old architectural column and have been saving my money. Now I know that I just need to suggest a walk downtown, right past our favorite antique store, just before Valentine’s Day. Thanks for the inspiration.
