TRYING OUT A NEW ZINUS MATTRESS IN THE GUEST ROOM/OFFICE COMBO. I LOVE HOW EASY IT WAS TO ASSEMBLE AND SHOP FOR!

So our guest room was in desperate need of a new bed, what we had in there was a full size that just wasn’t working for 2 people. All this time I thought it was a queens size and was wondering why two people in that bed didn’t work.

My mother in law moved to Michigan from Florida but didn’t bring along a bed, so when she said she needed one I told her to take the one in the guest room. It was the perfect excuse to spur me along to get a bigger bed.

I don’t know about you but bed shopping is the worst. I walk around the store, check the prices, try several out, and then hope for the best. Who can really get a good idea of how comfy a mattress really is but testing it out for five minutes anyway? I always feel self conscious laying there with the salesman staring at me.

Rather than go through all that I took a gamble and decided to purchase a mattress and frame that comes compressed in a box and delivered right to my door. I checked several sites, and read several reviews and decided on Zinus.

The frame came completely assembled, all I had to do was unfold it and add a few wing nuts (no tools required) to hold the two pieces together. It took less than 5 minutes to set up, and a 5 year old could do it. Loving that! The box sat in my guest room for a week with me dreading having to put it all together, but it was exactly the opposite of what I was expecting.

The mattress was a different story, once I took it out of the box I wasn’t strong enough to lift it onto the bed myself so I waited for hubby to get home to help me out. We plopped it on the frame and cut the plastic wrap off and right away it expanded to be a 14″ pillow to mattress in minutes. Wonderful!

Another reason I chose this frame and mattress was because you don’t need a box spring. In the package in it also came with head and foot board hardware and a bed skirt. The perfect set up for a one stop shop.

I can’t say how comfy the mattress is because I haven’t slept on it but my youngest son has and didn’t complain so I guess it’s fine. And the best part was the cost. The package was on sale, I had a store coupon, and coupon code that all got applied with the final cost of $300. I was so happy with that!

This room is also my office so I like the bedding to be neutral as well as the rooms decor. Ya never know who might be staying and I don’t want the room to be too girly, so black and white works best.
