Black Friday Shopping Ideas from Sutton Place Designs
If you are looking for some handcrafted holiday items to give as gifts this year, you’ve come to the right place. My dear friend Ann is so talented, she takes such pride in her work and offers a beautiful variety of gifts for you to choose from. I encourage you to brows her shop, Sutton Place Designs, to start off you holiday shopping.
Now welcome to Christmas 2013 at Sutton Place Designs! This season so far I have festive pillow covers, full size stockings and mini grain sack stockings. The red mini stockings are sold out but I hope to make some more by next week…so check back.
The full size stockings are a mixture of linen, Pottery Barn red ticking and vintage fabrics. They are all lined and have sturdy twill hangers. The cuffs are double stitched and care is taken so they will last a life-time.
Last year I had a hard time keeping up with the custom monogramming on the cuffs. I’m not going to lie…it was a challenge! I thought and thought about how I could personalize the stockings without sewing cuffs on at the last minute.
I was roaming around Etsy one day and happened upon a darling shop called September Lane. Liz, the owner, makes clay tags and customizes them too. I took a chance and contacted Liz about making personalized clay tags for my stockings. She graciously agreed and our partnership was formed.
I have included a link to Liz’s shop in every stocking listing. I don’t think she realizes how grateful I am for her enthusiasm and willingness to work with me. I think the tags are the perfect solution for me and for my customers.
I have two special designs that I’m very proud of. These basic linen stockings are embellished with hand-knitted flowers and leaves made by my amazing friend, Connie. She worked with me and we came up with the perfect size and color.
The little rose and daisy are attached to the cuff with a vintage mother-of-pearl button.
Before I go I’d like to show you one more thing. Custom packaging is included with every purchase from my shop. Actually, this is one of my favorite parts about Etsy and I never, ever skip it!
I have a few more pillow covers to list and then next week I will list some gift items. Lavender sachets and tea towels plus some more ornaments. That’s all I have planned. I am being left behind by blogland because I don’t have a single Christmas decoration up. I made some burlap Christmas trees but that’s as far as I have been able to get! Enjoy your Black Friday shopping!!
These are all wonderful. xo Laura
